Also, wonderful hardware but android 12 in 2024 for 700 euro?
Moreover, can run only a generic browser and some showelvare. Most apps in the Huawei appgallery are broken and aren't getting updates from 3-4 years. (I know because I have a Huawei p30)
Bootloader can't be unlocked so you're stuck with a useless outdated os that can't run most apps
Maybe I'd get one for €100 as a smart home display or for light internet browsing...
There are so many assholes like this that unless they're using MailChimp or similar (cloud platforms where this can't be done automatically) I don't even bother with unsubscribing. I just set the mail server to bounce any email from that domain.
At least that app was foss so the source and build is still available on GitHub
Probably the dev was annoyed of the forced change for scoped storage which for a syncing app is almost a complete rewrite
the dev has no online presence, but they updated the app one year ago to add android 13 support
it seems the whole dev profile is gone, maybe they felt the new google verification was a hassle
And also with a randomized name/logo that changes at every election, so there's no more "i vote for that party because my family voted for them since 200 years ago, and i will still vote for them even if they want to do immoral things"
marketing needs new numbers to push new phones. New version at least once a year or there's no reason to purchase a new phone
but on android < 15 it resets as soon as you plug the charger, so it's not as useful which app drained the battery during the day. Plus it's buried in the settings. (with a decent launcher it's possible to have a shortcut)
On android > 14 is a good enough replacement, though

Update 2: I inserted an European sim card, a few hours later I got the prompt where android asks if I want to replace Google and chrome with a different default search engine or browser (mandatory by law in Europe) and most important I finally got the prompt to update to Android 15 build AP3A.241005.015 which isn't the Verizon "certified" one from 6 months ago
So at least I got this problem solved, I'm a bit sad that I can't run lineageos (seller doesn't give the super secret bootloader unlocking program that nobody ever saw and needs, but says I have to ship to him and pay an extra fee - I'm sure he's just going to swap the phone with a T-Mobile one)
update: seller (which is a professional refurbisher) says that all his refurbished pixels are american/verizon and he used to flash the global bootloader via JTAG, but since the pixel 6/android 13 (pixel 6 with android < 12 can, then they patched it with some antirollover) it can't be done anymore. He says that nobody cares about bootloader unlocking and I'm literally the only one out of thousands of customers to have noticed the issue. He says that there's a way to jtag the global bootloader onto the verizon pixel 7 and allow bootloader unlocking but it will have a permanent "software tampered" warning on boot and it can't be locked anymore. Don't know how much true that is.
I saw a 3d printer using plastic pellets instead of filament.
Is this a good idea? Because I never saw anyone doing this.
Seller says "in this way it won't run out of filament" but I have the impression of imprecise extrusions (machine was fitted with a big 0.8mm nozzle)

Io davo per scontato che una ferramenta non vendesse esclusivamente ferramenta ma anche vernici, materiale elettrico e idraulico. Certo, non con un' ampia gamma di scelta che può fornire un negozio dedicato, però almeno due spine e le due serie BTicino e Vimar più diffuse forse sì.
Invece sono rimasto stupito a vedere che questa ferramenta grande, con ben 4 locali abbia messo fuori un cartello che dice "per evitare di perdere tempo in coda, in questa ferramenta vendiamo solo ferramenta e non materiale elettrico e idraulico"
Intro: Webtoon is an app/website where (mostly Korean) comics are released in short episodes. Those episodes aren't released all at once but usually once a week, you have a free unlock a day and if you want you can have more by either watching an ad or by paying with coins, that are paid with real money. With the smallest purchase ($6), an episode can be unlocked with 3 coins (¢35) up to 7 (¢80). You can also skip the wait by paying with coins. I used it for years and I was ok by watching the ads at the end of each episode. It limited myself to one a day, otherwise I would scroll for hours. But, at the end of June 2024, they did the IPO, so that means ✨enshittification✨
So the guide on how to push away users to piracy:

Have a scary reminder at the beginning of every episode that says that piracy is illegal. (I can't screenshot that without a rooted phone, it's blocked). This helps the user to have a daily notification that yes, this content is also available somewhere else and you're not bound to artificial limits.

Put the last three episodes of a series started 3-4 years ago in perpetual paywall. No more "just wait one week to get the new episode". You want to see how that 200 episodes story that you're reading almost every day for 3 years ends? LOL pay $6 to buy a coins package!

Now that the user is pissed that they can't know how the story ends, they'll just search it on the illegal sites, since over the past years they had to skip through 200 reminders that yes, this story is also available over there.
