I bet it will be im-vegan related, especially because of the reddit-logo stench that wafts off of "the problem is both sides are too extreme" Enlightened Centrists that already showed up here, and few things get them more defensive and tribalistic than vegans existing, let alone stating (correctly) the cost and consequences of industrialized meat production.

Pronouns are a strong contender, love how ours show up even when we go to other communities.

Vegans, China, Ukraine, or our zero tolerance of bad faith liberals "omg censorship! You guys seriously ban people for saying the r-word?!"

[-] [email protected] 18 points 2 years ago

The safe bet (or maybe even the free square on the bingo card) is some sort of overreaction to treat criticism.

I'll add to my own bet: I bet that it will start because of the content warning policy for meat-related food posts and some DAE LE EPIC BACON bazinga will get mad about content warnings existing for their treats. wojak-nooo

There will be many attempts at starting one, personally I think most of our settled issues will stay settled since we are still the largest and most active federation (is that what we call our group?). I don't know what struggle sessions to come we haven't had yet, I don't think we've had a "separate art from their artists" in a little while so I bet its going to be that since I don't remember a resolution. I'm gonna lead with "how can you still listen to Ye after that Alex Jones episode?" and its gonna spark off.

Instance, I think

we aren't actually the largest but we dominate in terms of post and comment volume.

[-] [email protected] 18 points 2 years ago

seems to me like so far you can kiss any notions of critical support for anything goodbye

[-] [email protected] 16 points 2 years ago

Itll be back in due time, the LIBs will either block our feeds or learn. There will be some fun teething pains along the way though

@replaceable @UlyssesT all replies on my platform begin with @ ing prior posters in the thread

@replaceable @UlyssesT federation is very cool but many elements of the interoperability still need a lot of work. Still neat that it functions at all. On my end if I want to subscribe to a comm here every single post goes into my home feed so it becomes a bit of a firehose. I don't mind but it seems to discourage some people

Was outdoor cats ever "solved"?

EDIT: One that I would like to revive because it's like mainlining pure, uncut hexbear weirdness is "moving and stacking rocks in streams"

[-] [email protected] 8 points 2 years ago

We may find out soon. cat-confused

[-] [email protected] 7 points 2 years ago

It was ruled as inconsequential

Okay actually realistically we are going to be consumed by debates on the merits of voting and "strategic harm reduction"

[-] [email protected] 7 points 2 years ago

Struggle sessions don't get solved they go dormant and will always crop back up even without federation. Mods can do what they can to suppress them but there will always be a few threads that slip through the crack.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 2 years ago

It's unlikely but it would be quite funny if there was another Settlers struggle session
