James Donald Bowman is the epitome of a bellend and an insult to humanity.

And I will deadname him in every thread till the day he dies.

If you want a hate binge on this topic I'd suggest watching Lindsay Ellis' two-part piece in the hobbit trilogy.

Isn't the idea behind this meme format that the simpleton and the master say the same thing verbatim?

Thats not what I wrote.

One can have morals without reminding people of having that particular moral stance. One can have faith without ventilating it constantly.

But if you feel the need to berate people how they are wrong according you your moal framework and craft your core identity out of adhering to the moral ruleset it encomapasses, even dragging it into conversations that have nothing to do with it, you might have trouble of connecting with people outside of your particular dogma.

I like how the 'voluntarily' is a positive spin that suggests that the norm is that companies would only order a recall when pressured by a court order.

I mean it's a good thing that they did recall it, however the norm should be that every company did that in similar situation.

It's weirdly post-truth-ish that owning up after a mistake is seen as news worthy.

Unlike many i don't mind people leading with their particular belief system, it's a similar filter.

If your identity is based around a certain belief system in a way that you feel the need to include it in any conversation I can safely assume that there's little original thought or non-dogmatic identity in there.

A name I haven't seen in this thread is Owen Wilson. I hate his aloofness and his delivery. When combined with Ben Stiller it's a force multiplier.

I was quite excited as I've never owned a car with low enough kilometrage to have this happen before.

Last couple of days there's several issues with the UI. Thumbnails fail to load and symbols and letters are missing all over.

Hi there!

Seeing the enshittification of Windows unfold, I'm curious about trying out Linux.

I don't want to move over my main machine just yet, but I've got a 9 yo HP Pavilion 15-e001ed spare laptop I want to experiment with. Eventually I want a gaming laptop that can run steam games.

When I googled I found a plethora of pieces of advice, but seeing the proselytizing for Linux here, maybe I could get a bit more personal advice as a potential conscript.

So what advice would you give me to start my journey into Linux?

UPDATE: Ok my cherry is popped, writing this from a fresh Mint install. It's suprisingly smooth sailing. Only thing is somehow software gets installed on my root partition instead of the home partition I made because people told me so.

But overall not nearly as dounting as I thought it would be. Thanks for the help everybody!
