I've never understood what this one is supposed to mean lol
It's a reference to the "Kelly" satirical comics published by The Onion. This is the author persona's self-portrait, which is usually accompanied by a pun relevant to the comic.
I know where it comes from, but I don't get the meaning of it. Like I understand what people mean by
but not Kelly. He looks like he's writing my name down because I'm in trouble.

kelly always has this image of him in the bottom right corner doing a pun. the meaning is just "i did a pun"
