For those of you who've done professional speech therapy, how long/how many sessions did it take you to get to a place you were happy with?

  • mine lasted for about six months, starting with sessions every two weeks for the first half and moving to once a month for the latter half. I don't remember the timeframe precisely, I think I did a total of ten sessions. it was around the second or third month that I was comfortable enough with it that it became "normal" I guess to talk, not having to actively think as much to talk, and by the end I think my voice "passes." During this time I was pretty inconsistent with practice due to .

If I'm being frank I didn't end up at the place I wanted to be, but what I really want is like Badass Contra-Alto which is like basically the hardest possible end point to get to with a "feminized" voice xpp

I had an SLP. We did a 45 min sessions weekly for 24 weeks. I think month 3 is when it could pass and the end of the 24 weeks is when it started to have a sound that I liked and felt more like me. Honestly even 2 months in I was feeling better than expected. The number of sessions probably doesn't matter as much as getting in consistent practice. Having it weekly did help me stay consistent since I felt like it was "due" every week where I feel a monthly session I'd get lazy toward the middle.

I didnt use an SLP, just coaching. It was 8 sessions and she said most of her clients were between 6 to 10 sessions once a month

I was very happy at 6 sessions, last one was a final touch up. 7th was just doing like another 15% after the first 6 did 80% of it.
