Roughly 62% of its annual budget comes from federal. Realistically, they must cave to the dear leader or at least pick battles very carefully.
Every person and institution saying that is what enables fascism.

Either way there's going to be a new exhibit. The question is, do we want it to be one we are proud of, or ashamed of?
What we learned so far is that they will lose the funding anyway unless there is a way to weaponize it somehow.

Yeaaaah. I kinda get this one, it isn't exactly the biggest exhibit there and as we can clearly see, not much fucking came of it. If we still have a Smithsonian in a few years, we can tag on this whole shitshow as it's own exhibit.
Fuck the Smithsonian. They deserve to go away after this.
