Honestly, the only historic plantations like this that should be left standing are ones that are effectively made into holocaust museums of the transatlantic slave trade.

You'd need amerikans to be ashamed of their history for that to happen. Its the same in kanada too, settler history is memorialized. Its gross.
And people have weddings and shit at these places. I talk a lot of shit about the Germans, but they at least have a little shame about their past.
