Does Terraria not have a “peaceful” mode?
Journey mode I think we made to scratch that itch, iirc. I don't play it though, I enjoy pain too much.
I like how in Journey mode you can unlock infinite replication for every block or item by sacrificing enough of them. The concept of giving up potential power now in return for a huge payout later intrigues me. I just wish it was more balanced with higher costs or a cooldown or something, since certain items break the game when you can spam them endlessly even if they're several steps behind in the equipment progression chain.
Same.
I like it because it solves my ~~kleptomania~~ ~~hoarding disorder~~ urge to collect everything in case I need it later.
Thinking back to the old equivalent exchange mod for Minecraft, maybe the solution is to allow conversion of all items to some currency, and then locking the conversion from that currency back to items in the same way as journey mode. Converting would be done in the same place as researching, maybe researching could even give diminished currency.
The lore explanation is that you need to take apart items to understand them, after which you can assemble them and disassemble them efficiently.
Magic cannot be assembled, which is why enchanted weapons revert to their normal variants. Any item causing problems when convertible can be blocked for being "too magical" to assemble.
I really whish this was a thing now.
Terraria is missing a lot of features you'd expect it to have
Such as?
A Poochie mode where you play as Poochie; whenever you are not on screen all the NPCs ask "where's Poochie?" /s
Crossplay, official&native mod support, cloud save with sync, the features you'd expect a 14-year-old game to have
They have the semi official tmodloader which has workshop support for mods. Steam cloud saves are supported.
And why would you expect an older game to have these features?
semi official is not official.
steam cloud saves are supported on PC.
14 years is enough time.
TModLoader is as official as we can get. Re-Logic supports them and on the official monthly news about the game, TModLoader is always mentioned and the devs, that work on TModLoader talk about what they've done. There's no point in changing the game to support modding, when there's already a separate and free app to do it.
What other cloud saves would you want?
Crossplay is coming... at some point. They've been working on it for a long time and getting decently close, I think, I don't remember exactly. Should come out in the future though.
Cool. So those features aren't implemented yet. Those are the features you would expect this game to have by now.
Please scroll up and read my comment. I think maybe you forgot what started this discussion.
Does stardew valley have it?
