Liberals are fixated on the fact that these guys are young, which is a reactionary take in my opinion. The fact that is a gerontocracy run by ancient rich vampires fucking sucks and is a huge impediment to improving the quality of life for workers. The issue is not that they're kids--it's that they're cryptofascist computer-touching Thiel-bros who are thinly disguised pawns of . Criticizing them on the basis of their age instead of their actions and ideology is a red herring that only serves to reinforce existing power.
I agree, instead of just age they really should hammer home these people are so inexperienced they don't have a proven track record of leadership.
But I guess that's the point, they're loyal to Musk
Nor do they have especially good ideas. I think there can be a place in political organization--even in leadership--for people who don't already have a ton of experience, especially if they're working in concert with people who do have the experience. Again, I think the problem is that to the extent that these guys have any vision or values, it's "let's burn it all down and install Peter Thiel as CEO of the government." There's a lot to criticize about those values without even touching anything about these people personally. Their youth is only relevant insofar as it makes them perhaps easier to influence.
What sucks about Amerikkka literally is that the only alternative to stuck-in-their-ways boomers that insist on never retiring are “le epic troll” zoomers that know what they’re doing is wrong, and are doing it anyways as a joke.
It's just a """joke""", but they actually mean it
The way to make a criticism involving their age without being reactionary is to put it in context.
That can be the context of human brain development, pointing out that impulse control and decision making abilities are literally not fully formed at their age. Or the (related) context of the power dynamic between them and their much-older superiors.
It's reactionary to attack the age directly, and therefore denigrate young people broadly. As usual, what matters is the intersection of their age and other factors.
good take because half of the ghouls in the senate would want to do the same anyway.
