Could be fat redistribution, my face softened somewhat over the space of a few months though it can take up to a year or more depending on genetic makeup. If you're close with your mother she may be able to notice.
That makes sense. We live together, so she sees my face enough times to make a proper comparison. I'm just surprised she's better at spotting things then I am. Every time she brings it up I'm just thinking "wait, something's changed since a couple of weeks ago?".
It can be hard to notice small changes in yourself, it took me looking back on my transition photos to see some slight difference and I think around 8 months in was when it stood out more to me.
