Yeah! I'm not really sure what to make of what "not a guy"-ness vs overt comfort with traditional femininity means as a broader point in feeling alienated by cisnormativity and patriarchy, but it seems to be a fairly common feeling among trans femme/genderweird AMAB people from what I've seen. I'd like to hear more from trans masc/AFAB enbys about some of their experiences like that too, because I don't think I've heard about childhood gendering stuff from the flip side as much.

I feel like this might be projection from my part as someone who's pretty averse to "conventional masculinity," but in my own experiences trans masc people seem by and large to have a much healthier and positive understanding of masculinity as something that doesn't have to reify patriarchy or misogyny than most cis men. Sorry if I'm off base and sound like I'm minimizing any trans mascs' negative experiences of cisnormativity, but I kinda feel like there's something to being brought up in a patriarchal culture that polices kids' gender weirdness against "boys" being "sissies" harsher/differently than "girls" being "tomboys" or "butch." Would really appreciate learning more about that from a trans masc perspective and sorry if that comes off as ignorant.
