My mind is so quiet today it’s crazy. Meditation W.
May I ask you if you have any advice on starting a meditation habit? I have always loved it when I did it, just so hard to keep up.
Sure :3
Why do I assume I’ll be brief?
I’ve done it every morning for a few months. When I had to get up early I’d wake up extra early and sit on my bed attempting to focus on my breath for 15-40 minutes. It started out pretty difficult and using guided ones might have helped, but that doesn’t seem to be your issue. Since a couple weeks in, I noticed I’d feel really miserable if I don’t do it, so I eventually do - often too late. When trying to make it habit never let it slip for a day or imagine that not doing it for a “full” amount means your “streak” is dead. If you’re really rushed for time just count out twenty breaths and call it a day. More recently I’ve gotten into the bad habit of checking my phone when I get up, but I still meditate for 15 or so minutes just after, and sometimes more later if I feel like it. I’m at the point where throughout my daily life unless I’m hyperfocused I’m reasonably mindful frequently noticing thoughts and coming back to reality. Mindfulness isn’t a ten minute only thing.Thank you! This is great.![emoji bridget-yoyo-walk bridget-yoyo-walk](https://hexbear.net/pictrs/image/f7fc22c1-59f0-41e1-b0c6-ac73388ab2c5.gif)
