Here is the conclusion I have reached: if you are agender you cannot crossdress, because you have no gender from which to "cross". However if you are genderqueer or nonbinary, you are always crossdressing since no article of clothing is gendered appropriately for you![emoji power-genius power-genius](https://www.hexbear.net/pictrs/image/12261447-1d05-421a-9255-ef080d607563.png)
Crossdress is what I wear to church on Sunday π
I think it depends on how you conceptualize your gender. Some agender people might still identify as non-binary, although I suppose maybe the SchrΓΆdinger's crossdressing implied by the contradiction is rather appropriate.
Being Agender is definitely outside the binary =)
In that case I think you can only crossdress if you identify the activity yourself as crossdressing.
I do know there are some transgender women who are also drag queens. Does that count as non-crossdressing crossdressing then? I'm kind of clueless about the subject.
I think what we're illustrating is that "crossdressing" is such a binary-gender concept, right? I might identify the activity myself as crossdressing if I'm allowed to, though! I transed my gender so I could crossdress the other way![emoji sicko-lea sicko-lea](https://hexbear.net/pictrs/image/1e142ea2-e915-4545-b1ad-a9ae811a80cb.png)
Uh I would assume that if a trans woman is doing drag queen stuff then it wouldn't be crossdressing? Since the gendered-ness aligns...? Idk either though, I guess "crossdressing" is kind of an unserious term.
Agreed. Always I thought the idea that crossdressing was a thing was weird. I'd feel like its an oppressive concept no matter someone's gender though, but maybe that's projecting?
Also might be biased somehow because I was required to introduce myself as a crossdresser as part of a school assignment for one school day (and it was a well known assignment, so some other teachers would force you to do it). Each student had their own thing that had to do that their classmates picked for them.
Yeah I kinda feel that way too, I guess we're projecting together =)
Uh that sounds like a fucked up school assignment???
My condolences.
It was meant to be in good fun. Most of them were jokes. NHS did a hazing thing for new inductees where seniors assigned new inducties and outfit to wear and mine involved "crossdressing" (nothing interest, barely fit), so it was a joke about that. Just... accidentally was a little to close to home for me.
OTOH, I think someone had something along to lines of "nightrider" as their thing... surprised the teacher allowed that one.
Yes super fucked up. Not surprised to hear sadly
