Nice people in the computer, please make me feel more calm about the fact that I finished my letter and put it on my desk for my mom to find and read.

My brother is trans, so it isn't as bad, but still...

[–] [email protected] 15 points 6 months ago

Your brother is trans kel-bliss uncritical support to your mother for having multiple trans kids and evening the odds against the cis!!!

The day after I sent the email coming out to my family I just lied in bed and blasted music through my headphones so I couldn’t hear if anyone was talking about it.

I can't do that. I have an appointment with my dad (div.). Though I am not coming out to him yet.

I know this probably means divorced, but it made it seem like he has a doctorate in divinity

I hope it goes well for you Edie <3

I keep reading β€œEdie” and thinking β€œEddie, meh” before remembering how to pronounce it and remembering how cute a name it is. There was some kids book where it was that if the protagonist.

My mother had the nickname edie, it sounded like eh-dee.

Leaving a letter is such a cute way to come out, I hope it goes well!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

It sounds cute because "letter" is just a nice way of saying "I wrote down my ramblings on my typewriter"

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

Ramblings are cute in their own way

[–] [email protected] 9 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Sounds like a really based and cool way to come out, wish I was better at writing.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago (1 children)

You don't have to be, depending on what "better at writing" means, either you just write down your ramblings, or you get yourself a typewriter.

I just struggle to put thoughts to words on paper. I can never get the exact meaning I want out of it. Still might be a good way for me to go though.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago

I can't either. I will write a very good letter/comment in my head and then when I actually go to write it down, I can't remember it and what I do write is a lot worse.
