wtfffff i just heard a recording of my voice from multiple years ago and i sound like completely different person despite not having voice trained??? like i sound 1000 times more masculine back then
does hrt change voice at all?? i thought that only happen if you take t, and that e does nothing to it
i guess maybe i've been doing things subconsciously? but i don't think that would make such a noticeable difference
i am thoroughly confused
Has to be subconscious changes. Estrogen has no effect on vocal cords.
From what I've gathered, your voice muscles don't actually change but it's somewhat common for trans people's voices to change faintly on their own as they transition. Presenting femme for long enough can cause you to start picking up on other people's feminine inflections and you can sometimes simply pick up on that style of voice without even realizing or consciously working on it
Most of the things that make people read a voice as masculine or feminine are behavioral, not organic. Many people unconsciously model their way of talking around gendered expectations, and that means the way you talk changes whenyour egg cracks and meeting these expectations suddenly becomes a source of pain. I know several trans women who talk very differently to how they did pre-transition without any voice training.
