Here is CBS's coverage of the event:

A deli worker told CBS News New York that Hodge was ordering a sandwich when a woman at the counter got angry and began arguing with him over who was first in line to order. According to the deli worker, in that instant, the woman pulled out a knife and stabbed Hodge in the stomach. USPS confirmed Hodge was a letter carrier assigned to Manhattan.

It appears to have started over a dispute over who was first in line. It's up to you to decide if that's a rational reason to attack someone with a knife, regardless of your sexuality / gender identity.

Except that current pope has been working with that org for a number of years and is a known quantity vs. some outside guy you're bringing in from the cold. A nice try at an analogy, but it doesn't quite stack up.

This is horrible. Does anyone have the locations of the eggs so I can safely recover them to make sure no one else smokes those dank nuggs?

Project 2025 is the most double talky I've ever seen Donald Trump. "Project 2025? Nope, never seen it, never heard of anything in it, but it's got some great ideas. I'm not going to follow it and I don't have anything to do with it but I hear it has some really good ideas, but I won't be adhering to them."

Reminds me of the "Unite The Right" rally where he wouldn't really condemn anyone: "Those folks are really nasty, but also there's a lot of good folks."

I think this is part of his "charm". He double talks, so if you are a fan you perk up on the positives and let your eyes glass over during the bad parts.

Time has been kind to Mr. Jobs. Read about his early years at Apple... he was famous for skewering anyone that disagreed with him. He also had lovely habits like parking his sports car in handicapped spots so he didn't have to walk as far. You can't disagree with his talent for running a company that did an awful lot of innovation, but he wasn't a nice guy. He named one of his first products, the Lisa after his daughter, but didn't treat the actual daughter that well.

So sick of these clickbait headlines. From the headline to the body "Melts down" -> "wasn't too impressed". BORING. Journalists need to do some actual work like they used to instead of just farming rage bait.

You know what might have been a clue? The past!

  • March 2017: Proposed $5.8 billion (18%) cut to NIH funding, targeting cancer research indirectly.
  • February 2018: Proposed eliminating the John S. McCain Childhood Cancer Foundation.
  • June 2019: Revoked the Clean Power Plan, weakening air pollution controls linked to lung cancer prevention.
  • 2018: Delayed asbestos bans under the Toxic Substances Control Act, linked to cancer risks.
  • 2017-2019: Repeated attempts to repeal the ACA, threatening free cancer screenings like mammograms.
  • February 2020: Proposed $3 billion cut to NIH in the 2021 budget, while increasing defense spending.
  • July 2019: Reversed proposed bans on flavored e-cigarettes, undermining tobacco-use prevention.

If people are surprised, it's because they aren't paying attention, or they just think Trump is BASED until the ramifications show up at their doorstep.

Plans like this work great for the first couple of weeks. Turns out software engineering isn't this simple fucking thing. Making anything beyond a toy takes actual work. There are lots of people learning this first hand right now. There is some kind of belief that ChatGPT version 0.1+ (whatever ships in 2 weeks) will be able to take over the job of software development entirely. Well, guess what? Doing anything relatively complex in software takes actual intelligence. Once there is an AI that can just code by itself, it will also be smart enough to be a doctor, civil engineer, consultant, etc.

A lot of fucking companies are going to learn this first hand. They are either firing their staff thinking the AI wave is already here, and in reality, it may never come.

The near future of AI is skilled software engineers using AI to augment their productivity. By the time you can take the human out of the loop, AI will be so powerful it will slay any white collar job, but this won't be for years and years and years and by then it won't just be software that is in trouble as a career; it will be many, many industries.

Mother fucker, HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO DO ALL OF THIS CRAP!! un-fucking-believable!

Hahaha but that's when they say "oh he was just trolling" or "wow, you liberals can't even tell he was joking!"

Wait, what CEO is surprised that Trump won't look at data and make decisions on that? Anyone this foolish should have their stock shorted.

If the democrats are so sick of getting swapped out maybe they should field some decent candidates.

In an unexpected turn of events, President Donald J. Trump has compared his financial situation with that of famed physicist Erwin Schrödinger's iconic thought experiment, Schrödinger's Cat. The comparison sheds light on a peculiar aspect of Trump's personal wealth: sometimes it exists, and other times it doesn't – all depending on what serves his best interests at the time.

Trump's recent explanation revolves around the concept of superposition, which postulates that two mutually exclusive situations can coexist simultaneously until they are observed or measured. In this analogy, Trump's wallet is both filled with $500 million in cold hard cash and completely empty. It only becomes one or the other when necessary.

"People don’t understand the complexity of my financial situation," said President Trump during the interview. "The world sees me as a multi-billionaire, and while that may be true, there's more to it than meets the eye." He then went on to explain how this complex financial state applies to his recent legal troubles.

As a vivid example, Trump mentioned a fine imposed on him by a New York State judge for failing to comply with the terms of a 2013 settlement regarding his now-defunct Trump University. Despite claiming to have half a billion dollars readily available, Trump argues that this fortune mysteriously evaporates whenever it comes time to pay off his debts.

This intriguing theory has left many scratching their heads. However, some experts believe that Trump's wealth is indeed entangled with his fines; they exist together in an unstable state, where paying his dues would inevitably collapse the system and reveal the true nature of his bank account.
