The wall-o-text comments on Lemmy are the worst. No shame at all in not being that person.

A framed picture of Channing Tatum.

I think the joke is it's a bunch of large gals in sequin dresses, and the sign suggests they epitomize British nightlife. Which may or may not be accurate, I'm unsure. But either way, it's a poorly formatted joke.

If it can detect suspicious unfriendliness, then I'm really in trouble.

They've grown up in a world where immediate gratification is expected.

I know every generation says that about younger generations, but perhaps that's because with every generation it just gets worse and worse.

I can sense the disappointment, I'm sorry to hear that.

I noticed in my neighborhood, all the kids and parents went trick or treating last Friday. Why, I have no idea, kind of fucking dumb. It's getting dark at 6PM, there should be no problem that Halloween is on a week night.

Sad. And ultimately avoidable.

I've been to Rapid City. The only thing mysterious and magical was leaving Rapid City. Though their pawn shops did deliver a bunch of well priced retro gaming stuff.

It's also implied that she engages in statutory rape.

She's unaware of Josh's real age though, so I don't know the legal or moral implications.

I had been patiently waiting for this doc to drop on Netflix. I cried like a baby, multiple times. Very, very good.

Mats Steen, a Norwegian gamer, died of a degenerative muscular disease at the age of 25. His parents mourned what they thought had been a lonely and isolated life, when they started receiving messages from online friends around the world.

The chemicals maybe, I don't know which ones. I'm not a poop or perm expert.

I'm really excited about this. Particularly the mainboard that can be populated with Genesis and 32X circuitry.

There's no mpv community to share this to, so I figured the next best place was here.

I wrote a script that does two things:

  • Saves the watch_later file for the currently playing file every X seconds, if the file is not currently paused.
  • Saves a "watched" dummy file when the currently playing file exceeds a certain percentage of watch time.

Normally mpv saves the watch_later file for the currently playing file only if you gracefully quit. This isn't reliable enough for my tastes, so this timer makes better sure my last position is saved.

The second addition is purely for the benefit of additional scripting, inside or outside of mpv. The mpv-created watch_later files are intended to be impermanent, and I believe depending on settings are automatically removed once a file is played to 100%. I personally still want to keep track that I watched a specific video, even when the watch_later file is reset.

It probably goes without saying, but this script has only been tested in Linux.
