I downloaded Deepseek to run locally a few days ago for shits and giggles, it didn't do well at all for simple dates. Like as a test I asked it for when Mao passed away (I had issues when asked when he died) it gave me a who different year, month, and day. Even when I tried correcting it, it refused to correct.

Edit: I normally don't ever touch AI, I find them as mostly useless techbro junk, but with the bill about Deepseek I figured I'd give it a spin. I very well could be asking in the wrong way.

Freya-JS can be fed Spotify or Apple Music albums/songs/playlists and will grab the music from Youtube Music and automatically handle the tags and metadata. Additionally a soulseek client like Nicotine+ is good for more popular songs.

The finish on these cybertrucks are so bad. Looks worse than the paint on a 20yo Civic that spent it's life in Arizona..

My partner and I play locally with an old PC as a server (we got tired of constantly needing invite codes). Its not bad and they're still adding new content and pals. We stopped for a bit around release because of the rubberbanding though.

To be honest, if I didn't live in Amerikkka and instead somewhere where Ladas were common I'd do it. Aesthetic, simple, cheap, and no built in capitalist spyware.

I only use it when it shows up as a search result in SearxNG or Ecosia, through a frontend like Redlib, without signing in, and with Mullvad active.

Otherwise I haven't gone back. Accounts scrubbed and deleted. Honestly better mentally (disregarding real life stressors and depression) and less new hobbies since I left Reddit.

Cringy theming and allegedly less system use (but it’s Chromium so kind of a losing battle). God I hate gamer shit.

My homescreen is just black with Lemmy, Signal, my homelab, Discord, web browser, music, texting, and my smart lighting.

I’ve tried to simplify down my mobile device as I have an addictive personality and have struggled in the past with social media on my phone. Half the time my phone is in greyscale as well.

It isn’t enough to live but 40 hours a week is 160 hours a month which comes out to 3200 USD before taxes. I don’t know what taxes are like in Colorado but after that, Federal, Medicare, and Social Security you’re looking at probably mid 2,000s per month. Then you have expenses like groceries, transportation, medical insurance, etc to wipe out whats left.

I’d use a burner phone, not for travel to the PRC or because of CSAM, but for travel among western states. Every accusation is projection for them.

The last thing I need is some customs agent cloning my phone and arresting me over something like being a marxist, pirating, or just having made comments about their politicians.

Gulags were a continuation of the Tsarist Katorgas. The katorga camps weren’t some vacation.

They were starved of resources, employed forced labor for the empire, and inmates could be sentenced there for anything from common crimes to revolutionary beliefs (even common liberalism).

From the turbulent times post-revolution to post-WW2, the Gulags were a tool of their era to keep the country afloat while handling counter revolutionaries, actual Nazis, and common criminals.
