This was published in 2002?!?! It sounds like it was written in the fucking 70s, holy shit.

Played some pirated Space Marine 2, I hate that there are 8 kinds of boltgun, all of which are useless. Tyranids are a boring enemy that completely lack any personality. The selection of what is and isn't a major boss is very strange. Zoanthropes? Normal enemy. Neurothropes, aka a very slightly better Zoanthrope? Boss with a giant health bar. The health and armor systems also just feel worse than SM1; I'm basically always at like 10% HP and have to hide around corners to recharge my armor because you can't easily get executions on swarms of gaunts.

A large number of warhammer "fans" (it would not be unreasonable to guess that this group is even a slight majority) do not engage with the hobby in any physical way, and instead just do things like watch lore videos, play the video games, and repeat memes. I would argue that most of the chuds who get really pissed off about the idea of female space marines or start larping as imperials fall into this group. This group has become larger over time as GW's prices continuously rise (driving people away from the physical game), the setting became more mainstream (largely through video games and fanworks), and especially when it became possible to play the tabletop game entirely on a computer in the "game" Tabletop Simulator (~$10 for a copy on Steam to play as any faction you want vs ~$500-1000 and dozens of hours to play one army).

There are also a decent number of people who do play the physical tabletop game that purchase and build models, but do not paint them. Historically, tournaments enforced a rule that models must have at least 3 colors on them, and in the newest edition of 40k there are explicitly 10 bonus points that each player receives at the end of the game if their army is painted to a similar standard. I can say that in my friend group, there is one person who painted a few models, decided he didn't like painting, and now just has the rest as plain gray plastic.

Crossbow, I support levelling of the playing field between a normal person and a rich sicko who has been able to spend their entire life training and can afford armor through their exploitation of the peasants. Also, I do not respect Pope Innocent II and his banning of crossbows was a skill issue.

Was browsing the modlog and noticed this

Do we think Vance is stupid enough to not understand that NATO primarily benefits the US? If "Europe" is cut off from the US, they're going to make deals with China and (to a lesser extent) Russia. Trump obviously doesn't understand shit, but Vance is the puppet of Peter Thiel, who you'd think would know better.

By painting even a single model you are already infinitely better than the average warhammer fan, especially when that model looks as good as your forgefiend.

Thanks, it's sooo much better than the monopose warlocks GW sells (and cheaper to boot!). There's also a secret third eel hiding behind her hand. You should post your elves to /c/hobby once they're done! Always love to see people's work.

"NOOOOO Eldar are lame! If they're so good, why don't they like the space fascists?!?!"

"Hehe this warlock has some funny space eel friends"

Aw dang, is it good? Am I going to have to watch a league of legends tv show?

If you're a boomer like myself, you can also just open the .xml links in a browser and then copy-paste the filenames into another browser window to download them onto your computer directly.

The filenames for the audio files will look like this:

Nah, it's a warhammer dipshit, and everyone knows that warhammer "fans" never actually play the game because they're too busy bitching about women custodes.

When Bill Kristol is urging you to turn left you must have done something horribly wrong.

It's good. Here's hoping Goodbye, Eri gets an adaptation some day.

He's smokin' entry plug, he's on that LCL.

He's got 4 knives

Stupid sexy Eva

*sort of, not a gundam but it's a kit by bandai so... sans-shrug

As someone coming at this from 40k, honestly pretty impressed with the kit. All snap-fit, with full articulation? Multi-colored sprues? Hell yeah, let's go. Really need some finer grade sandpaper; I had to make do with just a glass file which is a bit too block for some parts (and doesn't work at all for the metallic parts because it makes them way too shiny).

Only a couple things went wrong during building. The right metallic pectoral cover is loose for some unknown reason (I may have filed down a ball-joint too much?), and the left purple bicep cover doesn't rotate which means the rest of the arm likes to pop off if I'm not careful. There's a noticeable gap on the fingers in the left hand on the first image, and I don't know why since there were no sprue connections ono the surfaces that connect to each other.

Might put on some more of the stickers but the one on the entry plug is already peeling so idk it might be wasted effort. Also the kit came with two spare knuckle covers that I don't see a use for in the instructions.

Full kit name is "RG ARTIFICIAL HUMAN EVANGELION UNIT-01"

Finally finished the whole group! From left to right: Inquisitor Coteaz, Interrogator, Sister of Battle, Scrollboi, Feral Worlder, Mystic, Servitor, Booksy the Book Skull, Joe Krabo, and "Daemonhost".

I'd painted up Coteaz years ago (and it's good I did because his new model sucks lol). Eventually they'll all be based in the same style as Coteaz but the texture paint I use is all dried up.

Close-ups of individual models in comments.

Paint now has built-in AI image bullshit.

Death to Microsoft.

TFW you're halfway through converting and painting a miniature when its rules are removed from the game boohoo. Oh well, now it's a tech priest proxy.

It has parts from 5 minis, bonus points to anyone who can guess them.

Interesting video, sadly the presenter is a frustrating liberal who refuses, whether out of sincere belief or optics concerns, to condemn NATO. Also uses fun phrases like "when Hamas attacked Israel on Oct 7th".

Edit: also the "call to action" at the end is laughable liberal claptrap. There is no stopping the military from doing something so long as the games industry exists under capitalism, because the military has INFINITE MONEY to tempt people into working for them.

Seems like there aren't a lot of typical Elden Ring dungeons, just overworld stuff and then bigger dungeons for the more important bosses. Performance is really bad so far.

Died to the Parade Lion while it was at 1HP, Freja secured the kill just before I timed out, hell yeah, I'll take it.

Slowly working my way through a BUNCH of vehicles and finally decided to bite the bullet and do the camo. Still a lot of work to go, but this is a huge jump in terms of looking done. Masking tape took 8x longer to put on than actually painting did. As someone new to an airbrush, I must say that it's definitely faster and smoother than using a brush, but I really need to improve my aim. There's some nasty overspray in various places which is going to have to be touched up by hand, but I'm generally very happy with this.
