Personal opinion, but I think a lot of people (as well as this site in general) need to expand beyond this site- as in, this would go regardless, no one (not even the mods/etc) should have this as their one source of socializing/human interaction (probably).

I don't think I'd say I prioritize growth, but I think it would be nice if this site could be a space from which people could expand outwards and develop their own circles (which if it fit their priorities/preferences, would prioritize growth). Things like the recent webfishing groups, tracha, hexcraft (still need to check it out myself), the movie-watching stuff, etc. all would be such examples. The world is big enough for infinite social circles that harmonize with one another (ideally, realistically this doesn't always happen but it absolutely can and usually does, people just don't look at the successes which are a daily part of life for pretty much almost everyone).

Not entirely sure where I'm going from this, but having a discussion about what Hexbear's priorities are would probably be a good idea. And then also having a discussion about how to create- if not on Hexbear, adjacent to and maybe mutually benefiting from it- other spaces with other priorities would probably also be cool.

While it's staged, it's also the closest to relatable he's ever looked, maybe the closest any former or prospective POTUS has ever looked. McDonald's might have sealed the deal for him and that's the most YanKKKee thing ever

I wonder where else, and what time periods have this as the same ("eunuchs" in western or modern mistranslations/misrepresentation actually being trans people)? While there are also no doubt also cases of the term being accurate, it does make one wonder- and it's somewhat heartwarming to think that there was such acceptance on some level, not that it's so odd for pre-Christian (or even then, before trans identity started getting weaponized by the reactionary culture wars) cultures...

Are they? Seems to me like they've more of just stopped talking about anti-Asian hate crimes (though at least part of it may be being too keyed in to Asian diasporic spaces and getting cabin fever over it myself).

This rhetoric is already happening in Silicon Valley where a lot of my coworkers have been discussing how they want to report some of their Chinese coworkers to internal security and the FBl because they think they are "CCP" spies sent to infiltrate American big tech with the rational that suspected coworkers say they like Xi and that China is a better place to live than USA

As for that... while I knew that the witchhunts were ongoing in STEM, against community orgs, etc... it's another to hear of the other side of the picture. That it's "a lot" of your coworkers wanting to get in on the action in your experience is actually much worse than what I'd expect, despite having seen a lot of shit where I am...

Perfection. Obviously (due to prior struggle sessions) this is not cheering on the hurricane or laughing at the victims when I say this, but this is exactly how the US has been treating Haitians (and the entire world) distilled down into one sentence. Actually- not quite "exactly"- unlike with Haiti where the US is pretty much explicitly, directly guilty for the overwhelming majority of Haiti's two centuries of suffering post-independence- we aren't, none of us are guilty of inflicting this upon the US; in fact, while the masses could be ascribed varying levels of guilt and non-guilt, the settler-colonial destructive nation-project of AmeriKKKa is likely directly responsible for inflicting this upon its own people and creating the conditions where this misery would be exacerbated and prolonged.

The gall of (certain, specific, however not at all remotely miniscule in number) Americans in spreading blood libel against Haitians- not only on unfounded claims, but for issues that could and should if true be directly attributable to two centuries of American invasions, occupations, regime changes, and plundering and agricultural as well as economic imperialism, always struck me as particularly vile, when Haiti's never-ending food crises (manufactured mass famines, rather) are entirely AmeriKKKa's fault, the fault of all those (bipartisan- honestly I suspect the DNC is more guilty even considering the KKKlinton's notorious abuses of the nation) assorted Hitlerites who occupy the highest positions of power, wealth, and prestige in the regime, and when Haiti even now is being trodden down by hired Kenyan comprador boots, something their respective US embassy is on record describing their responsibility for arranging.

Honestly, for the WW3 argument, I think there's a pretty good case to be made that Trump, warmonger and racist that he is, doesn't want WW3 (or will resist it more than Klanmala and co.)

That said, nobody decent should be supporting either racist, murderous genocidaire (though WW3 and potential nuclear annihilation is as good an excuse as there ever will be, I could accept that at least). Any system that parades about such monsters as the false "choices" of the people is wholly illegitimate. I just hope the rest of humanity can protect itself from whatever may come next and fully and utterly deliver on the MAD deterrent if need be.
