this feels like a very skill-less tipping of the hand and seeing how funny it is that liberals are forced by their sham morals to actually intervene, if not just to clear the air of a really distasteful comment. But the comfort you have to feel to foolishly just openly say something like that and misjudge just how behind you everyone is....

I suppose I'm what you'd call one of the legacy posters to Hexbear. Proud Member of the Megathread and Hextube watch along Nerd Call. Used to be more active, but i've come and gone. Proud to say Hexbear will be the 2nd longest community I've been a apart of in due time and I've been around for a while. On this day, 12 August 2017, 32-year-old anti-racist Heather Heyer was killed and dozens injured in a white supremacist terrorist attack in Charlottesville, Virginia. Heather was one of thousands of people protesting against a Unite the Right rally of neo-Nazis, Ku Klux Klan activists and other white nationalists and antisemites, when she was hit by a car driven at speed deliberately into the crowd by a 20-year-old Nazi, who was pictured previously on the Unite the Right protest holding a shield emblazoned with the logo of Vanguard America, a far right group. Elsewhere in the city, another group of fascists attacked and viciously beat DeAndre Harris, a young Black education worker, leaving him with spinal and other injuries. President Donald Trump said some of the neo-Nazis were "very fine people".
I'm sure for many of us, it felt like the death of Comrade Heyer was a pivotal moment in our understanding of the fight against fascism. We knew who'd be on the streets to fight, who would be out there against us, and most importantly, who would not be there at all. There's still that danger for standing opposed to fascism, but we fight, because we have to, because the violence will be there regardless, because not everyone can, or not everyone will. It's the only check against the coming tide of fascism.

If this is true, it’s the single dumbest policy in an administration that only sets dumb policy. But considering the tariffs on steel I can only imagine we’re going back to building boats out of wood or gang-pressing private vessels to start carrying cargo its not designed to to bear the burden.
