It's not all men, but we need all men to fix it. Everyone is responsible for the state of their community, and the man community has been failing.

Nobody where I live has any respect left for the USA, except for fascists. Peter Dutton tried following the American model and he lost his seat. We hate your country.

Yeah, the collaboration plane has four extremes:

Low D low E: I am the forever GM and my word is law. My players are here to experience my story, and that's all we ever do.

High D high E: My players? Oh, you mean my theatre troupe! Next week Sock is gonna teach us to play WTF!

High D low E: Yeah we've been playing in the same world for 20 years. I initially designed it when I was 12, but so much of the lore was added by my friends it's pretty much our world.

Low D high E: Last week John took us through the temple of doom, but this week I've prepared a political thriller set in Elizabethan times.

Those ones are really good!

There might be fun in there, I didn't look for that long.

I'm just giving it My final best shot before I definitively declare that I don't like Penny Arcade. I want to see what all the fuss is about, and then once I understand the fuss, I will see if I like it. And if I don't like it, then I can deride Penny Arcade and its fans secure in the knowledge I didn't judge a book by its cover /hj

Hm. I only registered those themes on a subconscious level, and all they got out of Me is a sensible chuckle. I think the joke went on for too long for how good it was.

Wait so their "signature pose" is just the peace sign?

Well I'm pretty sure most every expert agrees that communism is stateless, and the above definition is based on the Soviet Union, which never actually claimed to have achieved communism. The USSR claimed to be ideologically communist, not to have implemented communism.

[-] Grail@multiverse.soulism.net 21 points 5 days ago

We had 65,000 years of communism here in Australia. It was a gift economy. People lived with their families. They hunted food for their families, made tools for their families, constructed shelter for their families, made farms for their families. Reciprocity is one of the fundamental Indigenous values. You give what you can, you take what you need.

If you have a society where people's work is valued, then they take pride in giving. Look at Linux, look at Wikipedia. People do great things for each other because kindness is a fundamental human trait. Capitalism is the source of our modern greed and selfishness.

Consensus reality is a social construct designed by the Owning Class to control our idea of what is possible. A socialist revolution can only succeed if throws off not just our physical chains, but also our mental chains. Join !soulism to learn about the secret genders, reject seriousness, and plot a revolt by the mad.

I haven't seen this in any anime I actually watch, but I mostly watch shonen and other popular anime, not the romantic or sexual genres where this seems to come from. But on the internet, I see memes and art of anime girls with a triangular flap of skin hanging from the upper lip, usually on the left side (from her perspective). It's usually on characters who have more of the "manic pixie dream girl" personalities, which is I guess why I haven't seen it on the TV.

Here's an example I saw on MULTIVERSE today:

I'm interested in gaining a familiarity with Beavis and Butthead so I can understand more of the cultural zeitgeist. However, I am not a teenage boy and will probably not like it all that much. The plan right now is to watch 6 episodes. Which 6 episodes should I watch?

Why are the Betazoids described as an empathic species in SFA? Troi was an empath, but that's because she's half human. Lwxana and the Betazoid "delegates" in LDS are all telepathic. They all regularly use telepathy to speak to each other and to humans they're close with. Why are the Betazoids in Academy signing to each other to communicate subtly instead of thinking?

Also, was the Betazoid president's taking off of the speech device supposed to be symbolic of something in lore? I know the actsman is Deaf, but is there some kind of link between Deafness/muteness and the psionic wall?

I'd like to switch MULTIVERSE to require registration approval, at least temporarily during periods of lower staff availability, but I don't think anyone on our instance is receiving emails at the moment, and notifying users that their application has been approved is something I want to get working before requiring applications. I haven't received My verification email.

Is there a way I can send a dummy email to a specific user? And, do I need to do any steps to get emails working? I didn't configure any email server, is that required?
