You didn't even read what he said correctly man. I get class solidarity, but when someone uses their platform to speak truth to power and encourage systemic improvement it's not useful to bitch and bicker like this. It's a good thing, we should take it as a good thing and use that momentum. Not devolve into the infighting that makes our side so ineffective because we are all trying to be better people, and help each other be better. That makes us morally superior, but also makes it difficult to operate as an effective unit and play like a team, like the right does. They hate and they unify, they don't divide themselves like this over everything they can find. The fact that we do hold all of ourselves to a higher standard is a good thing, but we need to snap out of it before we let them win the country forever based on our lack of unity. Don't let perfection be the enemy of the good, especially in this historical moment

Fuck yes. This is starting to be about simply: "who is a good person?" It's us, and fuck them. Our side is about freedom, personal liberty, empathy, and moving FORWARD as a society.

No one asked, or cares, who you would "take", dip shit.

This is my takeaway post trump: I'm absolutely done attempting to help conservatives grow up or develop empathy or self-awareness, easier to do that with children, and it will make more difference. Arguing with them or engaging in this fake debate bullshit they love is worse than pointless, it's trolling. If you make a good point they will edit the video to make you look foolish, they will absorb zero moral lessons, they will process zero of your actual arguments, worse, they have zero moral hangups pursuant to their ends, so they will resort to tactics reasonable adults wouldn't even consider. I will never have another serious, invested political conversation with someone who voted Chump in my lifetime, I just, sadly, don't take them seriously anymore, much like the POS himself. I really, really tried to see if I could put even a little sense in my closest circle of trump voters after November, at great emotional and interpersonal expense, and, more than ineffective, it actually brought me a substantial amount of resentment for people I still love, and once held a great deal of respect for.

Like the title says I want to install a Linux distro on my old laptop. I am currently looking into installing a SSD, but I want to learn a distro for fun! I haven't been able to find a good current resource aside from the Linux Masters here, so I am actually asking for help on the Internet! What distro is the best!?

EDIT: thanks so much everyone for your recommendations and advice! I installed a couple of different systems before deciding that I think the laptop may be able to support Fedora with KDE plasma (my favorite flavor of the installs so far) and I'm finding it really attractive and easy to use. You will see once I get some more disk space used how the performance holds up! If it runs into trouble I might switch the machine back over to mint with, that one seemed to run really well and was pretty familiar seeming from my Windows days, also seem more low end and booted a little faster. I think I might even end up switching to Linux on my desktop I had so much fun with it last night!! I really appreciate all the information and will probably be experimenting with a more lightweight build on this computer in the future! I'm a Linux user and it was easier than I ever thought! ❤️

Maybe a little lighter on the "west" side of things and a little heavier on the "weird" side of things. Nevertheless there is a lot of "western" here to justify it! This is one of my favorite graphic novels

Centrist bullshit, the right loves this kind of shit

As a nurse, I can say this is always the answer, vegetables & fruit. The American diet is horrible for the GI system. When I went vegan some years ago I started having three a day, takes less than a minute apiece

I am actually really torn about this one, on one hand I had one episode of back pain that lasted nearly a year, swearing up and down the whole time that chiropractors were basically witch doctors and that I would never go to one. However, when I finally caved and went to one he fixed my issue after two sessions. On the other hand, my more recent back pain was not helped after I saw my chiropractor four times. In addition, I work as a nurse and have now seen at least three patients come in with vertebral dissections, essentially a stroke, that occurred literally right after they had seen a chiropractor for neck pain. Anecdotally, I would say it isn't worth the risk. Had I done physical therapy and used bought a tens unit the first time I'm sure it would have also fixed it without the chiro, but I was lazy

Thank God the actual fucking backbone of this country (the educated) are finally getting a (tiny by comparison) hand out instead of just corrupt, slimy ass corporations (for once).

Just thought it was funny that looking back I've used Reddit for over 10 years and I never actually paid them a dime. I feel really good about donating so much money monthly here, though, because I have so much hope for this place and a brighter future for us all in the fediverse. So glad to have a place ready to catch me when I drifted away from something I've been doing so long! Love the new home here! Let's all run off a cliff together!
