I'm not one for conspiracy theories but I do look at as many angles as I can think of. This seems like a perfect opportunity to settle out of court and thus funnel millions of tax dollars to a militia that will serve trump to the end.

I'm 100% convinced these Nazi militias make up the majority of the "ICE agents" we're seeing. That's why they don't identify themselves. These fuckers deserve anything they get.

[-] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 10 months ago

Fucking brown shirt bootlickers

[-] FordBeeblebrox@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

This isn’t a theory, white protecting white is baked into the founding documents of this country. Of course it’s a scam to funnel money, that’s all they do

[-] laranis@lemmy.zip 3 points 10 months ago

Labelling this conspiracy means you haven't been paying attention. This is exactly what they've been using lawsuits and settlements for over the last 18 months. That and the crypto bullshit to funnel bribes.

[-] kruhmaster@sh.itjust.works 100 points 10 months ago

Aren't they working for ICE now? I'm so confused

[-] glimse@lemmy.world 69 points 10 months ago

Trump will make the government pay it and they'll still have their ICE jobs

I know I'm commenting from different country, but the following quote by a judge in Australia is always worth keeping in the back of your head if you manage to get let off a serious crime...

Having escaped the lion’s den, Mr Lehrmann made the mistake of coming back for his hat

That was a line said by a judge in Australia during his conclusion of a very high profile rape case.

The story,

Bruce Lehrmann faced charges of rape. This case was very big in Australia because the rape occurred in an office at Parliament House and the government covered it up because there was an election coming up.

The criminal trial was abandoned because the case was having a very detrimental effect on the victim's mental health.

Later, Bruce Lehrmann sued a number of journalists for defamation... And lost... So now Bruce Lehrmann is forever branded a rapist. The judge delivered the above quote during his final decision.

[-] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 23 points 10 months ago

While I love that scenario, I think the likelier outcome in this case is that a lot of taxpayer money goes straight towards energising brownshirts.

[-] blattrules@lemmy.world 36 points 10 months ago

I’m not for capital punishment, but they should have just killed these guys.

[-] Wahots@pawb.social 5 points 10 months ago

I would have settled for them being deported to South Sudan.

Not saying someone should dox and swat the proud boys, but they do need a huge order of pizzas delivered.

[-] valtia@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Why would the local police swat themselves?

[-] normalexit@lemmy.world 28 points 10 months ago

"US government settles for $200m" -- news tomorrow, probably

[-] MyOpinion@lemmy.today 28 points 10 months ago

Can we send them to El Salvador when they come to court like we are doing with other poor people?

[-] aesthelete@lemmy.world 19 points 10 months ago

This administration full of dumb assholes will probably pay them too.

[-] limelight79@lemmy.world 17 points 10 months ago

They settled with the family of that woman that disobeyed a direct lawfully given order from a cop, to the tune of millions of dollars.

So, yes, they absolutely will pay them. In fact, this is a "legal" way for the government to fund them.

[-] rayyy@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

You tax dollars at work, funding felons.

[-] DancingBear@midwest.social 15 points 10 months ago

Don’t you have to admit guilt to receive a pardon?

[-] RhondaSandTits@lemmy.sdf.org 13 points 10 months ago

That's been the general understanding but may not be true. Up until 2016, America has relied on the government respecting the conventional way a lot of things are done. But there have been the occasional deviation.

It was controversial when Ford pardoned Nixon for not specifying what he was being pardoned for.

Last year Biden pardoned his son to protect him from possible persecution by a future government, also controversial.

Who knows, maybe Trump will shit out a tweet tomorrow declaring these idiots are completely innocent of any crime. Any challenge to that would need to be heard by the Supreme Court. Would the current Supreme Court intervene, I doubt it.

Your simple, one sentence question had given me way too much to think about.

[-] rustydomino@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

Don’t they understand because they were PARDONED it means that they were GUILTY?

[-] ryedaft@sh.itjust.works 10 points 10 months ago

I like to think I'm not a violent man but

[-] hemmes@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

Man, they could’ve just taken the already corrupt pardon but, no, let’s keep fucking around to find out.

[-] Bristlecone@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Just leave off the "find out" part, since anyone with Trump loyalty is untouchable. I think Trump would love to give the proud bitches a bunch of money

[-] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

Make M'Uricah great again?

[-] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 8 points 10 months ago

Wait, what?

[-] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Fuck. That.

[-] Crackhappy@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Make Trump pay for it.

[-] sfled@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago
