It exists among the skilled trades within the construction industry, where the value of one's labor is tied to a very tangible and measurable output. High producers are able to command a higher wage because they earn the bosses more money (or they'll take their skillset elsewhere).

In my experience they straight up don't know how to engage with you. Typically they get defensive about their own habit after you say "no thanks".

Wife and I drank casually (but still too much) and stopped last year. We lost weight and our baseline sense of well-being is much higher. Once you get far enough away from drinking, it becomes alarmingly clear that people are straight-up poisoning themselves, and have no idea how to socialize without it.

I've got a friend who expatriated to the Netherlands to escape the fascist spiral we're all feeling in the United States. It was not an easy task to manage with a wife and kid, as you can imagine.

I guess this goes to show there's little hope in trying to run from what's clearly coming.

The one (unsubstantiated) rumor that has me excited is the prospect of a dynamically destructable open world. If they're able to pull something like that off in a GTA game it would really be something "next gen". But I admit that's mostly just wishful thinking on my part.
