Kristin LaHargoue says her children, although born in the US, travel without birth certificates or Social Security numbers. Her thinking is aligned with the sovereign citizen movement: an ever-expanding group of anti-government activists that, for almost half a century, have operated on the belief that they aren’t subject to US law. "Hot take: You don’t actually need a birth certificate to raise a thriving, traveling, fully functional child."

For $497, LaHargoue sells a bundle that includes videos and templates for parents to obtain passports for their children based on “nationality” versus “citizenship,” with detailed instructions so they might respond confidently during “interactions with agents of the matrix.”

lmao

At first blush, Kristin LaHargoue’s social media resembles that of many thirtysomething moms espousing aspirational lifestyles. To her 88,000-plus followers on Instagram, LaHargoue—a crunchy blonde living in central Utah—routinely posts her children, her husband, and herself traipsing around the globe on her account @veda.revival. There they are, standing before the Sagrada Familia, striking silly poses on a busy Tokyo street, or dancing beachside in the Philippines. In an April 2026 post soundtracked to a version of Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia,” LaHargoue wrote that she and her family have thus far traveled to over 40 countries. Flying around the world at such a clip isn’t unusual for influencers. But LaHargoue says her children, although born in the US, travel without birth certificates or Social Security numbers.

This is actually an amazing grift. "I'm super wealthy and enjoy all the privilege that affords, BUT with my course you too can get all that same privilege without the wealth and $500 less from your savings account". As it turns out you can do a lot with private jets, even chartered, like bypassing customs and border patrol.

This is outside of my empathy budget. If anyone's actually paying for this shit, they deserve whatever is coming to them.

Given that creating stateless persons, which these are, is like international rights illegal and the LaHargoues aren't a nation state that can tank this I'm pretty sure if they EVER get found out, which, given that they're advertising it openly doesn't seem unlikely, the best outcome is they go to superjail and the children go into a hopefully halfway competent foster care and then it just gets worse from there

Do you know how much of a pain in the ass it is to get these documents after you are like 16.

This alongside the homeschooling movement are abominations resulting from alienation under Capital.

These people always think that laws are only words and using wordplay you can cast hexes. They think a contract is the words on the paper and not the agreement itself. There's zero awareness of laws, agreements, value, statuses etc. as abstract concepts that are only memorialized on paper.

They don't know or acklnowedge that we've collectively agreed a person, namely a judge, can make judgements about things, and that person isn't going to just give up because you used different wording on a weird, souvenir birth certificate.

If you have your baby in a court room with a gold bordered flag that actually means your baby is born in international waters because that flag is maritime law and you can pick whatever citizenship you want!

It's all sovereignty & fun & games until they get pulled over by the cops, ICE arrives, and each member of the family is sent to a different concentration camp.

100%, every single last one of these people is white and thinks they won't get deported for not being able to prove citizenship

Nevermind that citizens with actual documentation have already been illegally deported.

They may actually have a decent, unintentional point in that regard. But if paperwork isn't going to save you from fascism, lack of paperwork isn't either unless you are literally off the grid and living in some mud hut in a swamp where nobody will ever cross paths with you.

Ironically, this puts an even larger target on their back. Those poor children who have to grow up under the whims of these insane parents.

Become ungovernable (but very deportable if you have even the slightest skin tone)
