In a recent interview, conservative political operative Karl Rove said he’s voting for a Democrat in the upcoming midterms, breaking three decades of precedent exclusively supporting Republicans, and lamented the GOP’s embrace of far-right individuals.

“My party is being infiltrated by people like Bo French,” Rove said in an interview with The Texas Tribune. Weeks earlier, Rove described French, the Republican candidate for Texas Railroad Commissioner, as a “bigot,” after he posted several xenophobic social media posts taking aim at students of color celebrating a college football game. Earlier in September, the Tribune reported that Rove planned to vote for French’s rival, state Rep. Jon Rosenthal, D-Houston, in the race that will regulate the Texas oil and gas industry.

  • Dick Cheney was an abhorrent corrupt vile motherfucker who pillaged taxpayer money to line his pockets, pushed to extend wars in the middle east solely for profit and shot someone in the face.

When that guy says voting for the orange pedo is a bad idea it should really tell you something

Rove's whole shtick is turning everything one says and does into a performance of some kind, to misdirect one's adversaries. I can't tell you I know what his angle is, what his goal is, but I do feel that listening to him at all is a mistake. The only thing you know for sure is that he is trying to trick you right now.

So, sure, the GOP is where all the neo-Nazis are, today. But why is Rove bringing this up? Why bring it up now, as opposed to at any other moment in the last 10 years? That's where the trick will be.

Honestly, this was all predicted. The retarded masses are FINALLY figuring out that Trump is even more retarded than they are, and Trump is now a toxic brand. Every republican that wants a future in politics are now distancing themselves from Trump, saying that Trump is bad but us old establishment republicans are the good guys actually! Just remember when you hear these politicans condemning Trump, there will always be multiple videos and tweets of them swallowing Trump's load. JD Vance will once again condemn Trump when it's politically convenient, mark my words.

Gonna assume he's trying to give himself space from the cons before things go bad during the midterms to try and save himself, no other idea why he's trying to say this.

Oh no, how could it have become a Nazi party, Karl? Who worked to specifically make the GOP open to far right ideology, Karl? Who spent their entire career and influence in the GOP playing to the far right for their votes, Karl?

They've had Nazis in the party since at least the 70s... Not just things like the Bush family connections to providing Nazis oil in WW2, but more directly when The Heritage Foundation hired Nazis and white supremacists for various things.

    https://fair.org/home/heritage-of-extremism/

....and it's only gotten more overt.

EDIT: Actually in 1999 a journalist wrote a book all about this, titled "Old Nazis, the New Right, and The Republican Party".... It's definitely been a known thing for awhile now.

MAGA is the predictable outcome of the GOP he created. This is HIS fault, among others. This is what HE wanted, wished for, and fought for. Now he's whining because MAGA is losing badly, and a lot of MAGAs are going to be punished, and he's afraid it's going to reach back to him.

Does it count as a "nazi" "problem" when it take up more then 50% of its structure? Cuz y'all are just kind of going along with it.

Rove spent decades using unethical campaign strategies, identity politics, dog whistles, and hateful propaganda to bolster the Republican party and win them power through fear and bigotry. Now he is surprised that the nazis want a piece of that. You made your bed and made it nice and comfortable for Nazis, Karl. Now lie in it.

If Karl rove is saying the GOP has a Nazi problem and it’s going to vote Dem then I think we’re all going to die sooner rather than later. I think this was the seal right after Chaney.

    He's alive?

The last time I saw him he was freaking out because he was sure the numbers for Obama were off. So much so that it seemed he expected different numbers to be "guaranteed". I thought he crawled into a hole after that and died.

He is a propagandist and unethical strategist that used fear and hate to win his party campaigns for decades. He may or may not actually be a bigot himself. Could just be an opportunist without a moral backbone. But if he wasn't a nazi sympathizer, he sure was a useful idiot paving their wave into the mainstream.

    [slightly off topic]

One of the best political novels of all time, 'The Fools In Town Are On Our Side,' by Ross Thomas. The basic plot is that a political operator decides that the only way to clean up a small southern city is to "make it so corrupt even the pimps will vote for reform."

We're seeing a pimp vote for reform.
