Crime later? Email your city leaders today! And next week, and the week after… show your face too when you can: no votes for Flock supporters.

[-] Tiral@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago

It's weird. All the ones near my neighborhood were cut one night and took an absurd amount of damage falling. Almost like they were hit with a bat or 3.

[-] turdburglar@piefed.social 13 points 3 hours ago

sure but fuck this shitty ai picture.

[-] Danarchy@lemmy.nz 9 points 3 hours ago

Im the one whose gonna be committing all these crimes so if you do any of these crimes I actually did them hahaha I am targeting every single flock camera in America even though I am not there I have my ways you will never catch me even tho it is definitely me doing all of it

[-] Lasherz12@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago

I've seen evidence that the fastest way to cut down aluminum pipes is a circular saw. Sawzaws and portable band saws gum up the blades and slow down the cut. Not related, just thought you should know.

[-] NOPper@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 hour ago

I found a good deal on large diameter pipe cutters, and I like that they are very silent and surprisingly quick to use so I don't disturb my neighbors when I am doing large scale plumbing in my basement.

[-] mnemonicmonkeys@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 hour ago

Just like the start of Cool Hand Luke

[-] roofuskit@lemmy.world 7 points 3 hours ago

I can't, we had them removed already.

[-] Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 97 points 7 hours ago

Please do not post about the crimes you plan to commit on social media, friends. Cops would love it if you posted about the crimes you intend to commit.

[-] queerlilhayseed@piefed.blahaj.zone 20 points 5 hours ago

No one's doing that here, I just like sharing tips about home improvement. For example, did you know that spray foam insulation can be found at basically any hardware store, and can be used to close up gaps in your home? It's better to get the closed-cell type, as it dries into a stiffer, more durable material that lasts longer. You can also find sprayers that have long hoses for insulating the difficult-to-reach areas of your home.

Also the liquid and fumes aren't good for you, so make sure you use it in a well-ventilated environment and wear appropriate protective clothing like gloves, high-coverage sleeves, and a mask as needed.

[-] OwOarchist@pawb.social 10 points 5 hours ago

And please leave your phone and other devices at home if you're doing this. Flock cameras detect and track nearby phones.

[-] Signtist@bookwyr.me 35 points 7 hours ago

Yeah. They also love it when there's a specific date to ensure they have extra patrols nearby. Rebellions need to be unexpected and anonymous - an event that people are encouraged to publicly post about and participate in sounds like a trap.

[-] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 18 points 7 hours ago

Eh they can't be everywhere at once. If there's no specific location I don't think it matters too much.

[-] Signtist@bookwyr.me 15 points 6 hours ago

Sure, but they can increase the amount of cops working that night, and make sure that stay near the cameras. Might not make much of a difference in big cities, but smaller towns that only have a few cameras will probably be watched with much more scrutiny.

[-] lemmylump@lemmy.world 14 points 6 hours ago

Devil's night and Halloween are already their busiest days.

[-] turtlesareneat@piefed.ca 7 points 6 hours ago

Yeah any community that dedicates officers to watch cameras on halloween and then sees a kid run over is going to have a serious fucking shitshow on their hands, so I doubt they'll be watching them.

[-] Fishnoodle@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

Yeah, but then they have to explain why the city spent money to protect flocks property instead of truck or treaters

[-] nullify3112@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

The cops are immediately gonna use the tune of “the perp drove away and our flock cameras got cut down by some punks so we couldn’t track the car”

[-] SchmidtGenetics@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

They’ll just pay everyone overtime and double shift everyone on the taxpayers dime, it’s okay.

[-] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 11 points 7 hours ago

I plan to spend a quiet evening at home, giving candy to children. Just like everyone else as far as I'm concerned.

[-] turdburglar@piefed.social 2 points 3 hours ago

one bag of nerd gummy clusters for each ~~flock camera~~ trick or treat?

[-] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 5 points 5 hours ago

Well said, fellow law-abiding citizen.

[-] gh0stcassette@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 4 hours ago

I doubt there's a Jury in this country that would actually convict someone for destroying a flock camera, assuming they aren't bullied into signing a plea deal

[-] chisel@piefed.social 1 points 50 minutes ago

There are juries that'll convict a microwave for plagiarizing a toaster.

[-] lemmylump@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

Theses are unconstitutional and are violating your fourth amendment rights. No law to break removing shit that is breaking the highest law of the land.

[-] 4am@lemmy.zip 0 points 2 hours ago

Surely that’ll stop them from beating your ass and doing parallel construction

[-] Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 6 hours ago

Is that your legal advice as a lawyer? Because all the ones I know say to not post about this on the internet.

[-] DigDoug@lemmy.world 12 points 5 hours ago

I won't because I don't live in a police state, but I'm rooting for everybody who does.

[-] unitedwithme@lemmy.today 3 points 1 hour ago

Illinois has them EVERYWHERE 🤮😭

[-] vrek@programming.dev 11 points 6 hours ago

Anyone who damages these cameras was actually at my Halloween party, they had 2 drinks and were dressed as a hamburger. They slept here and left the next morning.

[-] eurodyne@piefed.world 3 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

They were also at my conspicuously beefy Halloween orgy

And, yes, I mean that the super gay way, not the terrible costume idea way

[-] vrek@programming.dev 1 points 4 hours ago

My understanding is lesbians or bisexual, and straight people were also present there right?

[-] eurodyne@piefed.world 2 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

I don’t know what kind of parties you go to, but I’ve never been to a party where they track the orientation of the guests

Edit: also, how do you have any kind of understanding of what was going on at my super gay Halloween orgy?

[-] vrek@programming.dev 3 points 3 hours ago

You misunderstood, it like quantum physics... Everyone who destroys a flock camera was at both of our parties at the same time

[-] eurodyne@piefed.world 1 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

Well, at least we can agree on that

The only thing better than a position in an argument is a superposition 👍

[-] vrek@programming.dev 1 points 3 hours ago

I was thinking of asking people their orientation but was afraid of collapsing the wave function and one of the crowd favorites was the wave pool

/s don't take offense im only joking I support everyone of every gender and orientation

[-] eurodyne@piefed.world 1 points 2 hours ago

I’m not offended… I’m just trying to figure out that, because sexual orientation isn’t binary, what would the result of a collapsed wave function even be?

[-] vrek@programming.dev 2 points 2 hours ago

We won't know till we measure it

[-] eurodyne@piefed.world 1 points 2 hours ago

If that means more orgies, so be it

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[-] 01189998819991197253@infosec.pub 7 points 5 hours ago

So, Purge. But for Flock. I'm down.

[-] OwOarchist@pawb.social 8 points 5 hours ago

On the one night of the year that it isn't suspicious at all to go walking around wearing a mask the whole time. Smart.

[-] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 4 points 5 hours ago

Well, I was planning on being an ICE Agent for Halloween.

[-] Fishnoodle@lemmy.world 15 points 7 hours ago

A better question is, "will I support any flash in the pan movement that calls for the public to disguise themselves for any reason?" Yes. And if anything illegal happens that negatively impacts America's domestic enemies in the process, then that's just the price of freedom, and the only thing i witnessed was groups of middle aged men in red hats committing crimes.

They were all white, 55 years or older, dressed in red hats screaming Trump 2028, and they were responsible for all the damage

[-] DudeImMacGyver@kbin.earth 2 points 5 hours ago

No, but there aren't any here.
