Wtf, Xi Jinping doing something good for China's people? I wonder what trick or fine print he's hiding...
Some chad on the 8th of July this year uploaded on the article right under Xi a graph of housing price going down in China lmfao

damn this "literally communism" makes a good point, i wonder if it makes any other good points
Here's a bunch of good ideas, but they're communist ideas so they're actually bad because communism is bad
"We should do good stuff and not bad stuff"
-Communists
lol
How Americans working 27 hours per day for $8 per month look at you when you suggest something that would benefit them

What's next, you're going to tell me that the ruling party of the People's Republic of China is called Communist Party of China?
By the way, why the Ecuadorian flag though?
It's from a state visit to Ecuador. I guess it was chosen because it was the most contemporaneous photo to when he supposedly coined the term.
You don't understand! If you press that button every house turns into a gray box! And everybody has to wear the same clothes and drink the same tap water!

Me in my guaranteed grey box, clothing, and water instead of worrying about enforced poverty
Hell yeah
I got bad news for you about "Mass killing of landlords".
Once again the "good things are communism" crowd doing our work for us.
So I'm guessing an article like this is trying to imply that China is "lying" about this, without outright stating, just implying that this is a "slogan" and like any political slogan in the west, it is meaningless and will not actually effect policy at all.
I do wonder how they square the circle of an "evil dictator" who doesn't need to come up with empty political slogans to win re-election making up slogans anyway. I guess the goal isn't to get people to seriously consider it, it's to just give them a knee-jerk reaction of "this is an evil Chinese lie!"
but I wanted to profit off exploiting the Chinese market!
This hurts the propaganda narrative that "communism bad"!
what are the comments like?
Looks like a mixture of agreement and different ways to prevent speculation;
https://old.reddit.com/r/neoliberal/comments/1vbraiy/houses_are_for_living_not_for_speculation_is/
now see, you could have just said it was on r/neoliberal. now i have to reapply the soap to my brain from when i came across a post literally cheering on the opium wars.
old.reddit links no longer work without a reddit account fyi
works for me.. i don't regularly visit reddit though so maybe if you hit multiple pages a month it blocks you or something?
It won't let you view anything with a VPN while not logged in so I'm just not using it anymore
That's odd because I can still view old without vpn / account
They are likely A/B testing this in different regions or user agents or something. Expect it to be the new normal.

Might be some AB testing still idk
If anyone still wants to read reddit without needing to post or vote, just use one of the frontends (similar to xcancel/nitter for x/twitter), they still work and you don't have to give any traffic to reddit itself. I have a redirect extension to make any reddit link go to a frontend, for example the link above automatically takes me to https://redlib.catsarch.com/r/neoliberal/comments/1vbraiy/houses_are_for_living_not_for_speculation_is/ That way you can still see what's on the original reddit link with most of the benefits of an old.reddit link without actually having to, you know, actually visit that cesspit.
Absolute paypig mentality.
Link or lib
i think the western left should lean into this "[good thing] is literally communism" stuff from chuds, even if it isn't necessarily correct tbh

Well of course. One cannot conceive that everything to do with communism isn't ontologically bad and remain a liberal.
Slop.
