Big same. For my it's the perfect sequel, some say that's reserved for Terminator 2, and while that's a good choice, Aliens is better.
I'm in the sequels can't live up to the original camp. I don't like T2 but at least it doesn't have brownface.

All indigenous violence against colonizers is justified
The aliens weren't indigenous to any of the planets the humans found them on, and in Alien 1 we're lead to think they possibly wiped out one ancient civilization. (although they might have only been travellers).
But it def could be the case of colonizing the colonizer, IE the fear that what humans are doing could also be done to them. Much like how aliens force men to give birth against their will.
I support the plight of the xenomorph against the colonialist marines.
Cameron is Hollywood's greatest Marxist director so I think he would support both versions

I like the theatrical cut, but the special edition has the extended part with Ripley at the space hospital and Newt's family going out to the derelict craft. I felt like that undermines the theme of Weyland-Yutani willingly putting all the colonists at risk by the xenomorphs, but the fan wiki says they were out there on company orders so I guess it still works.
