Anyone else enjoy sitting in the seat in the middle of the joined section and feeling like you're swiveling back and forth constantly? Just me?

Wow, I always thought the bendy section would be a walkway.

[-] yetAnotherUser@discuss.tchncs.de 24 points 2 days ago

It is usually? Never been on a bus with a seat there.

[-] lolrightythen@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

I don't know at all, but it just seems safer to not have a seat there

[-] yetAnotherUser@discuss.tchncs.de 18 points 2 days ago

Shouldn't be dangerous, but there's already less space in that area so it would constrict the walkway unnecessarily.

Like, looking it up, there seem to be variants wirh seats there but look how little space you have to move if two people are sitting there:

I don't see the benefit of having an extra two seats in there compared to just putting in nothing

[-] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

Depends on the bus.

[-] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

They are a little fun the first time. But then the novelty wears off and they kinda suck because of the lack of leg room and people trying to squeeze past your knees. Generally I try to avoid them, especially if there's someone already in the seat across the walkway.

I did, when I was a kid. Then they got rid of the bendy-buses :(

[-] FishFace@piefed.social 3 points 2 days ago

As a kid I always wanted to have one foot in the middle section and one foot in the front or back and try not to fall over :)

[-] WhyIHateTheInternet@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

They have seats in the middle in Budapest. At least 20 years ago they did. Also the same in Zion Park as of last year. I always love riding there.

Hah... It's advertising the accordion world championship in Asker, Norway. This is just so Norwegian, it hurts.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I just woke up and read that as the world norwegian championship, not the accordion one.

i even have the search history right here: "world norwegoam championship". turns out norway collects a lot of sports, but they don't collect records on norwegosity. for shame norway. norwegos need to be isolated and studied so it can be determined what nutrients they have that might be extracted for our personal use.

Accordion to the post, there’s something I’m supposed to get, but I don’t see it. Oh well.

[-] Angular@crazypeople.online 10 points 2 days ago

It made me think of goatse. I’ll see myself out now.

[-] Tomato666@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 2 days ago

Surely this is ripe for a goatse tribute...

[-] LORDSMEGMA@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago

That's horrific. I want to go

[-] osaerisxero@kbin.melroy.org 5 points 2 days ago

But only if it also makes accordion sounds while it's moving

[-] TheStaffmaster@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

someone should photoshop weird al's head over that tree.

[-] Tiral@lemmy.world -1 points 1 day ago

Funny story. A few years ago China was boasting they "invented" a train that doesn't need rails and drives around town. Which the rest of the world calls a bus.
