Bitwarden's being slowly maneuvered towards a private equity deal. Their current CEO is one of those dudes that specializes in showing investors the fastest ways to rip the proverbial copper out of the walls. However it's (still) open source so the free and open Vaultwarden exists as an alternative server.
I knew there was a free version. I'll figure out self-hosting or what my options are and make the switch
I use KeePass with Syncthing to keep it syncronized with multiple devices. I feel it's more secure than having a hosted service, and with enough devices you mitigate the risk of failure of the db (i.e.: you don't lose your data)
