My current boss at work who is the biggest shittest micromanaging conniving dishonest useless feckless spineless bag of shit I’ve ever met will yell at people for coming in sick. Like you have to be lower than low to think this is a good idea

My workplace abolished leave by phone in favour of leave by Slack because my boss couldn't see the point in him having to answer the phone early in the morning.

This is just going to create a lot of unnecessary work for doctors and other medical staff as workers come in for ailments that don’t need medical professionals, they just need time off to rest.

Oh boy, good thing Germany doesn't already have a doctor shortage or that'd be really bad!

Certainly isn't austerity creep because they've been throwing away their treasury for amerikkka proxy war in ukkkraine

In Communist Germany, they central government dictated to factories that workers must take only approved days off.

spoilerJoke if it weren't clear.

I'm sure clawing back all of the lost productivity from people taking the day off to play train simulator will make up for the loss of cheap Russian natural gas.

(It'll make it worse, as it won't improve producivity but forces people to use oil and gas for getting to work and doing work).

If you're well enough to get a doctor's note you're healthy enough to work!

That's what my manager does. They regularly come sick to work

Giving everyone at the office the flu by coming in to let them know you have the flu

It’s not the economy that’s bad, it’s Merz who absolutely loathes the working class.

[-] woodenghost@hexbear.net 19 points 6 hours ago

tbh the economy is also bad

I don't even understand how this is enforced, like is this just the government giving private companies permission to act this way? Or forcing all bosses to do it?

[-] AntifaSuperWombat@hexbear.net 12 points 6 hours ago

You can get written up for that (and fired if it happens multiple times), and your boss doesn't have to pay you for those missed days

[-] jackmaoist@hexbear.net 16 points 6 hours ago

I guess companies would stop paying for leaves where you've not submitted a doctors note. So if you have a headache and take a day off you won't get paid for that day.

Oh this is supposed to go for the private sector? I thought it was just for government jobs (no I won't read the article)
