But he acknowledged that he would like to outlaw Muslim calls to prayer and, if possible, ban Islam itself, along with Buddhism, Hinduism and "other pagan religions." He wants to treat abortion as murder and would deny the morning-after pill to rape victims.

He would also outlaw same-sex marriage and criminalize some sexual acts between consenting adults of the same sex.

"I just kinda boiled the two words down to a 'Christian' — I am that, I will not deny Christ — and I am a nationalist. I am an America-first, Tennessee-first person. So I didn't think that was a detrimental term," Fritts said, explaining his use of the term Christian nationalist.

Maybe he should read the constitution he has sworn to uphold before he sputters such nonsense.

Maybe the potential GOP voters should do the same in order to understand that he is bullshitting them.

republicans give as much of a shit about the constitution as they do about the Bible... Too many big words and no pictures

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

There are illustrated Bibles. Is there an illustrated version of the Constitution? In simple English, designed for little kids, but therefore also suitable for politicians?

I'm stealing this one!

What a fucking moron calling Islam a pagan religion when it's the same God he worships.

[-] JackFrostNCola@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago

I bet he also glosses over his participation in all the many, many, pagan traditions that have been enveloped by the modern christian chistmas celebrations.

[-] chilldrivenspade@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

christians are by far the dumbest of all the dumb religious people

[-] madcaesar@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I don't know man, any person taking fables literal is dumb as fuck. They are all over the world

I still have to hold back a big laugh right into the faces of xtians that say that about so many religions, including, sometimes, even other branches of xtianity, LOL.

Not even kidding. I've heard evangelicals say that Mormons and Catholics are "pagans".

[-] zebidiah@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 day ago

The first time I heard someone say catholics weren't christian i literally reeled on my heels from the staggering stupidity.... Not Coincidentally, these are also always the people who don't believe in dinosaurs

At least with Mormons it kinda makes sense since in a lot of ways they are probably the most divergent large Christian group nowadays. Still ain't pagans even if they are in a lot of ways just protestant gnostics.

So patriotic these days to drop even the slightest pretense of following the constitution!

Keep the conversations on AI Datacenters, War and Isreal, and GOP Tax outcomes from the last decade.

His constituents actually LIKE his racism and phobia, its pointless to promote him.

[-] just_another_person@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

Can't do either of those things, so way to waste everyone's time and effort.

[-] moncharleskey@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago

It's not about doing those things, it's about winning an election so you can get a nice sized grift going from inside public office.
