and shit I'm sorry that happened, I missed that post about the situation. The recovery industry and sober living by extension is largely bullshit, and not letting you leave to have a social life (which everyone is entitled to) is controlling, even if you are with sober friends.

American recovery is definitely made to punish the addicti instead of help them. The non-profit I was under wouldn't let people do MAT because of false positives, so a lot of people had to quit meds that worked for them or face honelessness

Moderators are allowed to pin and crosspost donation requests for large scope issues such as natural disaster relief funds and bail funds ((Example)[https://hexbear.net/post/16574) along with other crowd or moderator-compiled informational resources pertaining to donating or volunteering (Example), so long as the utmost due diligence is done prior to endorsement, especially in the case of directing people to donate to non-profit organizations.
Financial documents of non-profit organizations available to the public must be heavily scrutinized before moderator endorsement, and links to those must also be included in the endorsement post to help the community make their own decision if they should donate.
