Consider three of the biggest developments in our politics right now: We just learned that the economy lost 92,000 jobs in February, a capstone to a terrible year in terms of job creation. President Trump has fired widely despised Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, a key architect of his mass deportations. And reports are indicating that the killing of scores of Iranian schoolchildren might have been the handiwork of the United States.

What links all these things? In addition to the massive human toll they’re inflicting, they suggest that Trump is about to pull off a unique trifecta. He is squandering the advantage he and Republicans have enjoyed in recent years on three major GOP-friendly issues: The economy, immigration, and national security.

Not to mention the fact the child rapist is referred to more than 30,000 times in just the released Epstein files, and more than a million times in the rest of them.

The Grand Old Pedophiles and Maggots love the fact that one of their own is in the White House, the rest of us not so much.

It's bipartisan. The more dangerous sociopaths are those more skilled at masking. MLK Jr called it decades ago.

I'm so very tired of hearing notices that Trump's in "free fall," newsletter headlines that he's had "a very bad day," headlines saying person or other "slams" him, and he just keeps on destroying things, killing people, directly harming my country and others. He outright passes off the deaths of people in Iran with "it's war, people are gonna die," and until something directly stops him I will find it impossible accept told things are going badly for that ABSOLUTE IMBECILE, and anyone who ever supported him, including basically my entire family. UGH.

Oh this, I can’t stand YouTubers for this.

“Trump dealt devastating death blow bombshell in court”

Sure, sure,… but what will you say when something actually happens to change all this shit?

[-] Saltarello@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Recommend DeArrow extension to drastically reduce YouTube clickbait. PeerTube of course is preferable to YouTube but DeArrow makes YouTube tolerable

It's a strategy to rid the world of Trumpism. Confidence in Trump is like confidence in the stock market: it doesn't reflect reality, it shapes reality. Trump has strengths and weaknesses. Talking about the fact that Trump is a cruel piece of shit and an autocrat (the truth) actually helps Trump because his supporters wanted a cruel piece of shit in the whitehouse! Talking about the fact that Trump is a stupid, cowardly incompetent (also the truth) hurts Trump more. When Trump polls badly, shout it from the rooftops! It's true, and it makes him look weak. Same goes for any blunder or chaos in his admin: point it out, celebrate it, and repeat, repeat, repeat. People think the Epstein Files are not hurting Trump because they didn't immediately topple him: friends, it is eating at his support like acid. As Trump proved, all you have to do to make his supporters believe something is to say it often and loudly.

According to media, he's been on the edge of political disaster his entire successful career.

[-] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 month ago

It's always been disaster, but he gets propped up and retains power because the fascists in the government won't remove him

[-] minorkeys@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

And that's his success.

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Privatize gains, socialize disaster.

Can it really be in a free fall when it's been at rock bottom?

Oh, of course it can. Everyday is a new low.

[-] spaghettiwestern@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 month ago

His presidency is declining every day when a few hundred Maggot cultists have those leopards snack on their faces. One or two of those regrets their vote but would still vote for him again.

[-] JustEnoughDucks@feddit.nl 2 points 1 month ago

How do you know that when literally every single interview with a magat who has had their face eaten and gone bankrupt has said "I would vote for home again"?

[-] OwOarchist@pawb.social 5 points 1 month ago

it’s been at rock bottom?

It's not at rock bottom until the US collapses as a country and Trump gains the dubious honor of being the last president of the United States.

[-] Wispy2891@lemmy.world 17 points 1 month ago

Call me when he literally free fell from the empire state building

None of that matters. The rulers are the ultrarich and they are pleased. The mouth speaking for them is interchangable, depending on the mood of the masses.

Good thing Gallup stopped doing presidential approval polls JUST in time for this, otherwise we would be getting objective scientific measurements of how pissed people are.

[-] IEatDaFeesh@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

Is it though? He still has his MAGAtards no matter what he does.

[-] Loce@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

As a non-american, I don't see it. I would like to see it, but I just don't. I've lost all hope for the USA, while some folk in USA have lost all sense of reality and basic human decency. Basically he could admit on live TV he has raped little girls and there would still be a Fox debate going on: "well, maybe that's not a bad thing, maybe Trump is entitled to that".

No hope. At this point we can only hope he drops dead soon.

[-] CatalpaRed@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 month ago

I agree. He is actually The Emperor. He is GEOTUS, and it doesn’t matter what he is accused of or what he does. He will do whatever he wants (be it coerced or not), the establishment will go along with it, and the people will acquiesce.

[-] Asfalttikyntaja@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 month ago

Maybe Fox would say that Trump is blessed and he has god given grace to make all of those rapes?

Trump has fired widely despised Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, a key architect of his mass deportations.

What? How did this happen without me hearing about it at all?

First, thank fuck she's gone. But second, what horrible creature will be (or already has) replaced her?

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Markwayne (somehow, that's his actual name) Mullin.

He's perhaps best known as the senator who challenged a union leader to a fistfight during a Senate hearing.

He's also a former MMA fighter (3-0-0), loves violence against women, and hates limits on profiting from holding political office.

She still works for the administration, just got moved to something less public facing… And Markwayne Mullin, the asshole senator from OK.

A community college graduate (Construction Technology) with zero experience doing anything that has to do with that job or anything like it. We're in for a new kind of Trump dumpster fire.

Love that rash on his neck

[-] WatDabney@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 month ago

The problem though is that he's insane, so his response is to move to expand his powers and crush dissent, and all too much of the rest of the corrupt and compromised political establishment - the vaunted checks and balances - are, if not actively assisting him, conveniently failing to stop him.

Popularity only matters in a democracy.

So “score” is 20.

Killing scores if children would be twenties of children.

165 is eight score, so I don’t feel “scores” is clearly articulating just how many children were killed.

Also Noem isn’t fired, she’s being shuffled.

[-] OwOarchist@pawb.social 8 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

But it's also not "hundreds", which is the next step up from "scores". And anything more accurate would require more than one word to convey.

IMO, "scores" is fine to refer to anything between 40 and 200.

Republicans typically lead on the economy (.. snip ..)

heh sure they do, it's certainly not like the economy tends to do worse under republican admins

[-] IronBird@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

props to Murdoch's propaganda empire, for somehow convincing the majority of americans (rich too, via WSJ, not just MAGA idiots) that republicans are actually good for the economy.

their entire modus operandi for the last 40-50 years has been that of disaster capitalists, purposefully collapsing the economy to buy up distressed assets on the cheap
