The actual charge was “horsing around”.

As the BBC mentioned: it's a birthday surprise for his 66th Bday.

Execute order 66

I also quite enjoyed the Guardian article's picture of this policeman having a really good day at work

🤣🤣🤣

This plus all the other recent cases of people stepping down or being charged actually should scare the shit out of Trump.

I mean he's probably still safe at the moment, and might literally die of old age before consequences, but he's only in the clear until the millisecond his "friends" smell blood in the water. Which is evidently starting.

[-] Prior_Industry@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

I hope he hasn't had a good night's sleep in years.

[-] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 9 points 1 day ago

I hope he shits himself every night

[-] Prior_Industry@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

I think that's a given 😂

[-] MeatPilot@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

He already does that in the middle of the day.

[-] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Definitely no night sweats. He can't sweat because he's a HERO or some shit.

Definitely this. The more ongoing investigations there are in other countries, the more likely it is for damaging info to come out AND it will keep the Epstein files in the news for years more.

An investigation was also just opened in France

~~I do wish that the news would stop calling him ex-Prince or ex-Duke until he actually is one. He just agreed to stop using the titles, he still has them.~~ < Edit: Andrew actually was stripped of said titles in November 2025, though remains in line for the throne. > He's still in line for the fucking throne. Don't pretend that the monarchy has done more than it actually has here.

Also, though, good

[-] deHaga@feddit.uk 16 points 1 day ago

What are you on about? He had his titles removed

He was born 2nd in line, now he's about 8th in line

[-] Skua@kbin.earth 2 points 1 day ago

When did that actually happen? Last I saw, he was just agreeing not to use them publically

He was born 2nd in line, now he's about 8th in line

So still in line for the throne. He's 8th because other people were born ahead of him in the succession, not because the monarchy demoted him or something

[-] deHaga@feddit.uk 4 points 1 day ago

When did that actually happen?

Google it?

[-] Skua@kbin.earth 3 points 1 day ago

I did. I found the 30th October 2025 statement from the royal family saying they had "initiated a formal process" to do so, and Andrew's corresponding one agreeing not to publically use the titles, but nothing since. So what am I missing?

On 5 November 2025, the London Gazette included a notice which stated that:

THE KING has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm dated 3 November 2025 to declare that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor shall no longer be entitled to hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of “Royal Highness” and the titular dignity of “Prince”.

Fair enough, thanks! I'll edit my initial comment

[-] arrow74@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

For a lot of historical reasons, there isn't a simple way to remove him from succession. Succession is strictly governed and codified. It would take an act of parliament to remove him from the list.

Which seems like a lot of work when he's 8th in line. It's practically impossible for him to get the throne and frankly parliament has better things to do.

[-] CyberEgg@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 1 day ago

Maybe it would be worth an act of parliament to finally get rid of the monarchy once and for all.

[-] Skua@kbin.earth 1 points 1 day ago

It's not that I think there is an easy way, it's just that I don't think that his position in the line of succession is a meaningful response to whether or not he is in it in this context

[-] osanna@thebrainbin.org 1 points 1 day ago

i don't believe it's currently possible for king charlie to "demote" or remove succession, but they're looking at changing that due to andrew's........ misdeeds.

[-] Skua@kbin.earth 1 points 1 day ago

No, I don't think there is. I was only saying that in response to the claim that he's now 8th in line - yes, he is, but not because of any actual intention from the monarchy

Always good to see royals in prison.

[-] IratePirate@feddit.org 7 points 1 day ago

Good. Now do the rest of the cabal.

Oh, I forgot the Supreme Court declared them above the law. Never mind, then.

[-] SpikesOtherDog@ani.social 1 points 21 hours ago

Only if you can declare it an official act as president.

[-] osanna@thebrainbin.org 5 points 1 day ago

can we PLEASE do drumpf next?

[-] IratePirate@feddit.org 2 points 21 hours ago

Many people say, it was the greatest arrest ever. They come to me and say: "Sir! We've never seen a more satisfying arrest in the history of this country!" And they're right! Bigly!
