I really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing. However, I take issue with this part of the thesis:

It's clearly the case that they can act with impunity. Your local neighborhood pedo cares just as little as the rich about the moral norms, they just don't have the means to get away with the transgression.

The whole Epstein circus with these DoJ releases is just the rich dabbing on us. Not only do they not feel bound by moral norms, they know we won't do anything about it.

I've been thinking about how people like Elon Musk say things like "Empathy is toxic and holds people back." They might be virtue signaling their lack of empathy to each other. Like some kind of messed up version of big dogging. They might be trying to numb themselves to the terrible amount of suffering they have to cause in order to stay rich.

That's the best I can come up with. These people are so evil that it becomes almost alien to me.
