Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA daily-ish reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

English-language Palestinian Marxist-Leninist twitter account. Alt here.
English-language twitter account that collates news (and has automated posting when the person running it goes to sleep).
Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis.

English-language PalestineResist telegram channel.
More telegram channels here for those interested.

Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.

The Country of the Week is still Palestine, though we will switch next week to a new country.

Here is the map of the Ukraine conflict, courtesy of Wikipedia.

The weekly (biweekly?) update is here.

Links and Stuff

The bulletins site is down.

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Last week's discussion post.

Hamas released footage of one of their vehicle kills yesterday with an atgm. Israel did not admit this loss and have kept secrecy about their losses last night.

EDIT: This footage is from the 8th, not last night. Unreleased footage from earlier apparently.

A chart heavy article about the Chinese economy

https://www.ianwelsh.net/china-is-transitioning-economically-and-so-far-succesfully/

I didn't know Chinese gdp was so real estate heavy or that local governments had so much budgetary control in China

After coming in second in the elections, Javier Milei and his party are already on full damage control and boy, it is not looking good. He kinda fucked up during his campaign, he had a super hostile tone against the other neoliberal members of the opposition calling them "useless and traitors, just like the Kirchnerists". Now, less than 24 hours after his defeat and with the second round coming in shortly, he realized he is in need of votes if he wants to beat Massa (6% gap between the two). And as he explores restoring links with the neoliberals, he did what nobody expected: He extended his hand and offered an alliance to the Left.

He said earlier this morning that he is willing to offer the "Ministry of Human Capital" to the leftists because "they know a lot about this issue", claiming that "I don't care what they think of the Labor Theory of Value". He's playing the "pragmatic" and heavily "technocratic" role, utter desperation? Why would you offer a ministry to your arch nemesis lmfao. This doesn't look good, of course this will never happen as leftists, contrary to ancaps, liberals and fascists, do have basic principles. But this will resonate badly among hardcore Milei voters, this kinda looks suicidal to me. So much from the "We will never give an inch to our enemies" candidate smh my head.

So, Anarcho-Capitalist-Fascist-Trotskyist current is being born?

Other ancaps are completely losing it as well. They're already doing an internal purge and two prominent party members are being signalled and attacked for being guilty of making them lose votes. One is ancap candidate for Mayor of Buenos Aires (an extremely important position, he got third position and is out of the race), Ramiro Marra, a complete dork and worth for nothing man-child who almost cried on live TV because a children's tv show once said the Spaniards were the bad ones during the Conquista and during the May Revolution of 1810 (he holds dual citizenship) and who was seeing gifting dollar bills to people during the last day of the campaign. He works in the "financial industry" and was once (or still is?) a finance youtuber, you know, a wannabe Wall Street Bull or something. Then there's Lilia Lemoine, a flat-earth cosplayer of 42 years of age that is key to Milei as she's the literal link between incel anime avatar losers and his campaign. She was posted here some days ago in the old Mega, doing cosplay of some anime character I don't even know and people here were, rightfully so, lamenting it. She's under attack for saying stupid shit like "Men should be able to renounce paternity like women are allowed to abort" and for acting like a dumbass during the entire election cycle. It is interesting because she gets the most vicious attacks from her supporters because she's a woman, and mysoginy is inherent to all right wing movements. Unfortunately she will join her party's as a member of the lower chamber.

(All wiki links are in Spanish because none of these losers have their own english page).

The next in line:

Czech and Austrian leaders to visit Israel Wednesday

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer will visit Israel in a show of solidarity, both countries’ governments have said.

The leaders will hold talks with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog, they said.

Nehammer will also meet with the family of an Austrian-Israeli national who is currently being held captive by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the Austrian government said in a statement.

Palestine Resist:

[Communications blackout.]

Most violent and unprecedented bombing seen since the beginning of the aggression. Belts of fire are used across the entire strip, focused on the north. Massive bombs are being dropped by many planes targeting homes, neighborhoods, and infrastructure.

I'm a little surprised that Andrew Garfield, J-Lo, and Kirsten Stewart are among the small group of A-list celebrities that are calling for a ceasefire. Seems like most others are either indifferent or rabidly pro-Israel.

Al-Aqsa Mosque blocked by Israeli forces during Friday prayers:At the temple around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, there are very few people. Normally around this time, with Friday prayers about to get under way, that would be full. They just haven’t been allowed to get in.

At Lion’s Gate, the normal entry point for Al-Aqsa, we’ve seen some men being physically abused by the Israel police. One man trying to explain that he is just going in to pray was hit by a police officer.

It’s incredibly difficult for anyone to get even close to the mosque. Normally we would see thousands of people here for midday prayers. Roadblocks are set up across the occupied West Bank. People are being blocked from anywhere near the place they normally come on Friday.

At least 110 people have been killed, including women and children, as a result of several Israeli air raids across the Gaza Strip late on Monday and before dawn on Tuesday, a medical source told Al Jazeera.

In the last few hours, Israeli air strikes were reported in northern Gaza’s al-Shati refugee camp and al-Balad in Jabalia as well as two areas in the south, Rafah and Khan Younis

Palestinian news agency WAFA also confirmed the news, saying that the highest number of casualties was in Rafah with more than 30 people killed.

Medical sources also told WAFA that at least 23 people were killed, including children, and more than 80 others wounded in Khan Younis. Many of the victims in Khan Younis were taken to the al-Nasser Hospital.

Dozens were also reported killed in the strike on the al-Shati refugee camp.

Not seeing anything else about this ground stuff. Might have ended? Not really sure whether it fully ended or whether they just managed to get the media to shut up about it.

The signposts for ‘the path to San Francisco’ are very clear: Global Times editorial

During his three-day visit to Washington, Wang held two rounds of talks with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, totaling more than 7 hours, and had a discussion with Assistant to the US President for National Security Affairs Jake Sullivan for over an hour. He also had a one-hour meeting with US President Joe Biden at the White House. The topics covered in this series of high-intensity talks were quite extensive, covering almost all hot issues in US-China relations and international affairs. Through these in-depth, constructive, and substantive strategic communications, China and the US have jointly sent positive signals for stabilizing and improving bilateral relations.

The temperature of China-US relations seems to be rising, and many people have such a feeling. While Wang was visiting the US, California Governor Gavin Newsom was also visiting China. He generously praised China's governance and development achievements and said "the more successful China is, the more successful we all will be," receiving a sincere welcome from Chinese society. As an official with relatively fewer domestic political agenda constraints, Newsom can speak relatively freely in China without much political burden. However, we believe that his expressions in China are not deliberately catering to others, but rather heartfelt. This also indirectly reflects the nature of mutually beneficial and win-win relations between China and the US will be more evident when political and ideological interference is excluded. This is actually the normal state of China-US exchanges

They actualy believe the American BS? Also Global times editors needing some lesson on Marxism and imperialism too, they apparently never asked themselves why that was the norm and what happened that resulted this change from the "norm". They're really clueless aren't they? Like not even clueless about FP but clearly absolutely clueless about the anti-China factor in US politics in general? Is this all it takes? Tell the CPC what they want to hear and they'll do whatever for you? All of that posturing over Pelosi, all the posturing about cutting off high level talks, all it takes is some random Democrat cuck to tell them "ah yes actualy we want nothing but cooperation! Realy! This carrier in the SCS? Oh don't worry its just to make sure we cooperate fully and respectfully, I mean it would be a shame otherwise right?"

I fear the thought the CPC is actually this stupid and clueless but I can't wait to call this a W for them actually inspite of another round of US sanctions against China and/or BRICS countries, Biden will go around the media telling everyone how tough he was over "dictator" Xi.

Maybe this is all about Newsom as Biden's successor, its the only thing that makes sense.

🔴Kan Hebrew Channel:

Israel informed the mediators that it is ready to consider a large-scale prisoner deal with the Gaza Strip, leading to the release of a large number of israelis, this is what a political official familiar with the ongoing talks with Qatar, Egypt and other mediators told the channel.

According to reports in various media outlets, Hamas is demanding the transfer of fuel to Gaza, the release of Palestinian prisoners, and a ceasefire - and the political official replied: “Things are approaching the moment of maturity, and we will soon know where they are headed.”

Potential direction of current talks might be crucial.
