can't even make it to a 3rd interview when more than qualified for the jobs now... 5 years ago i could apply to 5 jobs and have 3 offers in weeks, now i apply to 50 jobs and get 2 interviews, neither of which make it past the 2nd round because now they have 1000 people applying per job
About half the people working at the bottom level of my local library system (for less that $20/hr) have a Master's, all have a Bachelor's. It took someone I know 6 months to get through their hiring process to work part time....
I got laid off in march this year. sent out about 600 apps in a month to literally anything qualified for. i got 3 interviews, only for positions i was way overqualified for, and didnt make it through the first round for any of them. i lucked the fuck out with getting reassigned to a position in a diff department, otherwise I'd be living with my parent after losing my home.
There is no job market at the current moment; it simply does not exist.

I had a job interview today. First one in at least a month now. Below my skillset by a pretty good margin, but the pay is good and they still have work from home for now. Guy yawned through the whole interview, completely tuned out the second I started answering any of his questions, and then ran the interview over by 30 minutes. By the end he said I'd hear back from the recruiter with next steps before the end of the day. Well, no next steps, no surprise.
I really dread the thought of having to look for work again if the company I'm at currently ends up folding.
Yeah Im currently working close to my dreamjob and I KNOW I will NEVER get another job this chill and cool . Mind you im sure this job is gonna exist for another 2-3 years but beyond that it gets really murky.
