How the hell are video games $70?!! The assassination part at the end was hilarious though.

It actually wasn't. Mirage was actually a 50$ launch price, and 60 for the deluxe. The game is actually sold under the standard (which reflects on quality)

Its times like these that remind me that proprietary video games are such an expensive hobby.

only if you pay for them think-about-it

They're pretty cheap if you aren't addicted to buying them the second they release (kids are the target demographic so a couple years is too long to wait). Nearly every single big budget video game will go on sale for $15, during each sale (winter, fall, summer, spring, new years, etc.), 2 or 3 years after release. At least on PC. Nintendo games are expensive, since they don't do sales much, even years after release. The computer hardware is the more expensive part. Games that have been out even longer and have a sequel are even cheaper.

Ah, the series that forever altered the trajectory of my live by making me obsessed with the Crusades, culminating in writing a undergrad dissertation on the Third Crusade...big mistake lol. These games lost their way years ago but I'll pick this up on sale down the line just to experience Baghdad. The historical tourism aspect of the games has always been strong, the detail and effort to create these worlds is worthy of praise. But damn the combat looks what worse than Assassins Creed 2 even, drastically less options and animations. The old games might have had mindlessly easy combat but at least it was flashy and fun, I'd take any of the earlier games combat over the combat from origins to mirage. And as everyone loves to say now the parkour in unity was much better to look at, but it was still quite buggy and allowed for a lot of strange movements you didn't intend on; just wish they tried refining and improving it rather than scrapping it altogether.
