No limits for the weed burner.

Everything food is fair game.

Stabbed it for extra luck.

In an attempt to be more social, I engaged in small talk today.

Her: We are always so busy.

Me: Well it is a growing industry.

I was getting a haircut

I am pretty sure I heard what cringe sounds like.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 5 days ago

That's absolute gold.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 4 days ago

Someone: Oh you're growing a beard.

Me: Always.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 4 days ago

Someone: Oh, you got a haircut?

Me: I actually got several thousand hairs cut

Or me: To date, probably hundreds, actually

So I finished my two day training for very complicated accounts a week and a bit ago, then immediately went on planned leave. Ten days later, today, I'm to be dealing with these accounts and I feel I've forgotten everything.

Before starting I was exceptionally, surprisingly nervous like my heart was racing, crazy nervous energy. I was thinking holy shit I'm actually terrified.

After a little while it dawned on me though, before starting work I had a strong large coffee like usual. What I did not do however, was drink any coffee during my time off. I was flying off the walls with a caffeine buzz and confusing it with pure terror about these accounts.

Day went fine. I dealt with said accounts without drama, quite a lot more energy expenditure as lots of new ideas etc. but it went it well!

Toldya! Still congrats on managing the hard stuff! This is where the sheep / goat divide is most clearly seen. Goats rule!

I went on the train and used my new earbuds to listen to an audiobook. 😊

No more sitting ruminating and ending up in a negative emotional mess

It's so nice out there. Went for a stroll in the local botanical gardens. Might have a beer or 2 in my own backyard but under the shade.

Today has been 3 months since I jumped off suboxone.

In that time I've more alive than I have in a decade. There's too many things to list, too many "first time in 10 years" but I'll list the 2 most important.

  1. laughing properly

  2. endorphin rushes from listening to and making music.

It's been hard but worth it. I've had to deal with some really serious stuff and didn't have a single craving. Didn't even occur to me as an option.

I think that speaks for itself :)

I'm so happy for you that you are now happier and more alive 🥰🥰🥰

( while sad and a bit cross that you lost so much time )

Goodnight everyone, I feel like I've been dragging my arse through this glorious day instead of bopping around energized after the weekend. Now I'm dragging myself to bed and flaking out. Love you all 💓

[-] [email protected] 8 points 5 days ago

Feeling so low.

spoilerUsually I’m really good at compartmentalising but I’m just not doing well with an old friend’s death. And scared about Melbcat’s nose.

Worried about becoming a sad sack and alienating the people around me.

I keep finding random golf balls around the block down here. Yesterday found about 15.

A neighbour just keeps hitting them in. I really want to know which one so I can hit them back lol. Not the safest thing to do though.

There’s so much rubbish thrown around here. Not by residents but by trashy randoms. Wondering if there’s any point to going out and cleaning it up while nobody’s out there.

It’ll probably be littered again by tomorrow.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 4 days ago

You’re doing a good thing to pick it up. Otherwise it might get washed into storm water, animals might eat it, birds sometimes pick up dangerous materials for their nests. I live in a pretty tame area, but it’s on a walking route to the local school, so am regularly picking up food packets or random bits of junk the kids drop. Hate it, but I figure it’s better in the bin than in my front yard.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 4 days ago

I picked up litter in the park during covid, it always comes back.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

I went out with a glove and a bag to at least pick up the alcohol cans, cigarette packets, takeaway containers and used tissues. (And a random metal spoon.) Gross what people drop on private property.

They’re in the bin now.

Been feeling the throat, bridge of the nose, and eyes today. A few people around work have been feeling sick so I'm hoping it doesn't get worse.

So no bike in this morning. If I'd been riding already I'd deal with it, but I feel like things need to be perfect to get back into the swing of things.

The days are so nice now, though. The morning ride might suck, but the afternoon ride will be very pleasant. I need to just get on it.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 5 days ago

I tried Carl’s jr double cheese burger. Maybe slightly more tasty than Maccas but just as small and tiny.

Not worth the money for it.

Today was a new Vegemite jar. That first swoop out of the pristine surface has a certain satisfaction.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 5 days ago

Chicken schnitzel enjoyers: short of handcrafting your own, what do you reach for at the supermarket?

[-] [email protected] 5 points 5 days ago

I make my own, but I have noticed that they sell premade ones at the butcher. They look pretty good, might be better and fresher than the supermarket ones?
