I love that “No one can stand him” Is a good reason for expulsion. The human trafficking wasn’t enough.

[–] [email protected] 131 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Fucking a teenager is why Republicans want to allow child marriage. His only crime to them was not marrying her after he trafficked her. That's forgivable. Being unbearable might possibly not be.

[–] [email protected] 81 points 1 year ago

Rape, fraud, etc is fine because it doesn't affect them. Him causing the Reps to not vote uniformly and needing Dem help is a catastrophe.

Oh, they don't care about that. Conservative men can molest and rape whoever they like with no obligation to marry anybody.

And if he isn't a Russian asset, he certainly acts like one.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 year ago

Of course not, Republicans only pay lip service to children, just ask Dennis Hastert

No on can stand him

Get rid of him

He fucks an underage prostitute

crickets

[–] [email protected] 35 points 1 year ago (1 children)

"fucks an underage" has a name. It's "rape".

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago (12 children)

Well, statutory rape. I’m not trying to let him off easy, but semantics are important

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm also more fond of something like "Sexually assaulted a minor" or "engaged in sex with a child". You know, something that hammers home what he did.

"Underage prostitute" is more like "a trafficked minor."

[–] [email protected] 61 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If they aren't getting rid of George Santos they are not getting rid of Matt Gaetz. Honor among theives.

[–] [email protected] 51 points 1 year ago

I think the difference is that Santos is willing to go along with whatever the Republicans think will keep their majority. Gaetz is willing to burn it all down if it gets him extra social media points right now.

This isn't really about ethics violations, it's about a Republican threatening his party's chances of keeping power.

[–] [email protected] 46 points 1 year ago (7 children)

I can’t stand just hearing about him in the news, I can’t imagine what it’d be like to work with such a prick in office, knowing the guy is such a sleazebag as he is.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 year ago

It's kind of conflicting because I hate him, but I also love how much the Republicans (especially McCarthy) hate him.

It's nice that the House has its own Ted Cruz.

[–] [email protected] 35 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This guy tries to exert way too much influence for someone who only won his last race because both candidates were under active criminal investigation.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago

Seems like the timing is a little off on the third criminal investigation.

[–] [email protected] 42 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He has a very punchable face.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 year ago (3 children)

There's just something wrong with his face. It's like some alien put together a human but they'd only ever heard descriptions.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Seriously, he looks like the love child of Beavis and Butthead.

The GOP made their bed with Gaetz, now sleep with him.

Or however that saying goes.

[–] [email protected] 52 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sorry, the GOP is too old for Gaetz to want to sleep with them.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 year ago

The average GOP senator is 65+ years old - that's about 10x too old for Gaetz to be interested in sleeping with them.

No one can stand Gaetz and his inner circle. They are fucking immature assholes.

Some of them literally, I suspect.

Ahhh yes. Now his politics don't align with yours, his ethics finally matter. Classic.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

House republicans hate paedo gaetz in the same way everyone in America hates house republicans. No one can stand any of those pricks either.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 year ago

I'll believe it when I see it.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No one can stand him? For a lot of us he’s more the face of the Republicans than McCarthy or McConnell

Just compile a list of things he accuses Democrats of, and you know what to look for in his case.

If they do and don't elect a Republican to replace him, and if they expel Santos and his replacement in the special election isn't a republican, there goes the GOP majority

Odds of the house GOP giving up their majority/control are exceedingly low. If there's one thing they'll prioritize, it's keeping their own power

How very...Late Roman Republic.

Dude is literally Rudy Russo from Used Cars (1980).

Just a plain scumbag salesman trying to be a Senator.
