i like deltarune but unfortunately i always have to torture myself by having a guide open in order to extract as much dialogue and secrets as i possibly can. i understand that toby fox likes secrets and it's cool for the fandom to have these and meta stuff but personally it doesn't sit right with me, and i think it's genuinely poor design if i feel a compulsion to actively ruin the fun of the game.

also there's some slight polish issues like your custom keybinds not working on the start chapter screen. otherwise it's pretty much perfect. banger soundtrack, amazing dialogue, always keeping it fresh but never overstaying. i reserve the masterpiece title for something like disco elysium but deltarune might come close.

I played chapter 1 and the dino girl being constantly abusive and threatening to Kris was really off-putting. Does that get better at some point..?

I liked chapter 3 more than 4, but the whole game is amazing, the soundtrack is one of the best in like everything, specially since I like music without lyrics just melody.

Haven't played since Chapter 1, just started again, and yep, it's really good! My partner likes voicing some of the characters while I voice the rest, it's a fun time.

I can't wait until it's fully done. I'm not playing it until it is. I've been burned by the episodic format before, I'm not doing it again.

It's genuinely a phenomenal 10/10 game, but I feel it was made specifically for a fandom to obsess over it, and I am glad for those people, I really am, but

I definitely need to. I played Undertale before multiple times and it still holds a special place in my heart. It's one of my favorite games, next to Portal. I do replay games sometimes, but as for story games I have replayed Undertale probably comes second next to Portal, and that's partly because I would share the game (Undertale) with friends and family and help them when they struggled in certain monster encounters. When I finished the game for the first time, I archived the save file so that timeline was retained, as if the world was kept alive forever. Toby Fox's music is amazing, I agree.

You might like Endless Empty. It's kinda rough and the first real zone frankly looks pretty ugly, but overall it's a really beautiful little indie RPG thing. It has my favorite premise for an RPG story:

I was just thinking about it because they had an announcement for the upcoming related title recently. It's definitely one of my favorite JRPGs along with OFF. Honestly there's a slightly higher chance you'd like Nepenthe, because it's more Undertale-like in both mechanics and tone.
