Hmmm, when it comes to pro-Palestinian rhetoric, it matters how it makes Zionists feel, but when it comes to Zionist rhetoric, the feelings of Palestinians are irrelevant. Fucking spineless bigot.

[-] [email protected] 29 points 2 months ago

Zionists’ biggest problem is having people not cheer along with them at the pictures of dead mutilated children, Palestinians’ biggest problem is being murdered by israel

"He wants to go after Jewish synagogues and non-profits!"

These scumbags are so low it's unreal, they know if they honestly depicted the left position it would sound completely reasonable: that these organizations would have to stop funding illegal settlements in the West Bank to keep their nonprofit status. Should nonprofits be allowed to violate international law and human rights?

Land is basically the most profitable shit ever but don't worry they aren't profiting off the uhh... hang on wheres Charles with the clipboard I need the numbers right now

The amount of land the Catholic Church has to have empty services and shut down schools is shocking.

I’d say over half of Catholic Churches (including ones with campuses) are only used for catering halls when a big movie films. Seems like most actual church goers are going to empty storefronts that have been reconstituted as churches called like “Universal Hope Church of St Barnabas”

They're really running out of steam. Based on her tone it seems like the dem machine can clearly see that their idpol isn't working anymore

[-] [email protected] 41 points 2 months ago

Pretty abhorrent that by referring to any policy or intention that's even mildly socialist as "literally the same as the Holocaust" the libs have succeeded in wearing out the term itself.

I mean this guy at the start is doing his absolute best to make it sound like Mamdani is Turbo-Hitler and all I can think is "ugh not this shit again just shut the fuck up"

I think, for better and worse, the ease of access to the internet has finally given enough people a broader perspective at which to view geopolitics. That combined with deteriorating economic prospects for the middle class means not enough ppl can be swayed by the mostly emotional beats the dems have relied on for ~15 years

There's a certain feeling I get watching this backlash to a mild socdem winning an election in a landslide upset because he promised to do good things within the scope of his position with the moderate power he'll wield.

Like the establishment is so pathologically unable to even pretend to try and help people that it'll try and crush any actual efforts to improve conditions just to prove it's impossible. These ghouls losing their minds watching someone approach the levers of power off the enthusiasm of the working class instead of careful McKinsey analytics giving him 50.1% of the vote exactly so he can do nothing under the guise of needing to reach across the aisle.

"Global intifada means destroy israel and kill all the jews"

The level of bad faith here is unreal. Actual fucking ghouls.

With that said, they're being so bad faith that it backfires on them, particularly when it comes to bringing up Israel at all. They can't win by mentioning Israel, they'd be better off literally never mentioning Israel ever. This shit worked against Corbyn but the conditions have changed entirely as a result of what everyone has seen.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 2 months ago

We can do that too... "Am Yisrael chai" means kill all the Palestinians, and there is plenty of evidence that they are in the middle of doing just that.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

What changed since corbyn comrade ?

[-] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Oct 7th and everything since. In Corbyn's time the "labour is antisemitic" line worked because a huge majority of people really had no idea what Israel were like. That has completely changed. Everyone has been confronted in some way or another with the "if you oppose what Israel are doing you're antisemitic" line at this point and everyone has rejected it. All good and moral people have criticisms of Israel and can see that their own criticisms would have been accused of antisemitism during the period of time when labour was being ruthlessly attacked for it under Corbyn.

In short, the consciousness of it being bad faith is now widespread and dismissed by all. That consciousness only really existed among the hardcore elements of the actively political left back then.

From he supports violence against jews to he hurts zionist feelings in a few minutes. Pathetic, spineless, hateful nonsense

[-] [email protected] 47 points 2 months ago

The crashout from this has been staggering, even coming from a place of extreme jadedness.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 2 months ago

I think if they had a contingency for him winning they would have slipped away into the shadows to activate that contingency. Instead you see them plotting in real time, pissing and shitting during interviews, genuinely gobsmacked by his success.

It's hubris all the way down.

jesus-christ she went completely off the handle

gillibrand is an incorrigible racist

[-] [email protected] 30 points 2 months ago

Dude she has Senator (D) next to her name, we already know 🙄

[-] [email protected] 39 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I'm honestly taken aback at this point by the amount of backlash Mamdani's been getting. I don't even think it was this bad against Bernie. Aside from his stance on the genocide (which is honestly still quite moderate compared to what's happening) what he's been saying has been really quite milquetoast socdem reforms and probably half of America are acting like he's going to do 9/11 2 on his first day in office. This is a sick sick country.

People were pretty messed up about Obama when he was running (and he had no other aspirations other than becoming king of the establishment ghouls)

[-] [email protected] 16 points 2 months ago

If anything this is similar to the level of racism he went through. I remember the “Barrack Hussein Obama” line being played over and over, people speculating that a skinhead would assassinate him, that he only did so well because black people voted for him just because he was black, and even white people being scared that him winning meant that every white person would be jailed for some reason.

I think Hillary wanted to run an ad where his skin changes color whenever he enters a room and she threw a tantrum after being told that wasn’t a good idea. Her campaign pushed plenty of racism on its own as well.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

The birther conspiracy about Obama was started in Clinton's camp too, or at the very least amongst her most high profile supporter.

And look what happened to her! A couple years in office and she’s a pliant pawn of the Dems

[-] [email protected] 37 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I ain't listening to all that. Free Palestine goku-halal

[-] [email protected] 32 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

his Holocaust revisionist knowledge

There's a lot in there, Senator, some of which may be inaccurate . . . I can't fact check everything in real time

I think Lehrer did okay here (unlike the genuine monster Gillibrand and her cynical faux-progressivism), I just thought that response was funny.

[-] [email protected] 31 points 2 months ago

Is this Blue MAGA or maybe at this point it's just Purple MAGA?

trump-feed

The Dems can have some islamophobia as a treat.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 2 months ago

The dems have been islamaphobic for a long time, they simply used to be better at hiding it.

Oh my god, it cuts off right before bring up she's on the armed services committee that's crazy. She talks a big talk on hurtful words for someone responsible for allocating resources to the blood machine.

[-] [email protected] 19 points 2 months ago

I'm going to be very surprised if Mamdani doesn't end up committing suicide with 2 bullets to the back of his head a few days before the election.

[-] [email protected] 11 points 2 months ago

Most tolerant white Yank, I wouldn’t be surprised if she only stopped ranting because the foam coming out of her mouth would have made her choke otherwise

Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.
