New Bill sounds like kind of a dick. Bring back old Bill.
Damn, there goes OnlyFans, republicans just killing more american jobs.
God I hope they do. It'll be hilarious to watch how quickly all the incels turn on Trump. Not to mention all the married Conservatives who hate their wives.
yeah, except this is the first step in Project 2025 to genocide trans people:
https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/17416590241312149
Pornography, he writes:
[is] manifested today in the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology and sexualization of children [. . .] It has no claim to First Amendment protection. Its purveyors are child predators and misogynistic exploiters of women. Their product is as addictive as any illicit drug and as psychologically destructive as any crime. Pornography should be outlawed (Roberts, 2023: 5).
This invocation of pornography is intentionally broad, vague, and amorphous. By equating trans issues (“transgenderism” and “transgender ideology”) with pornography, child abuse, and misogyny, this vision takes one step toward the outlawing of trans people altogether. Roberts (2023) goes on to detail the draconian and restrictive mechanisms necessary for eradicating pornography and all that comes with it: “The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned. Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered” (p. 5). Such extreme rhetoric signals a no-holds barred approach to regulating gender, sexuality, and privacy. Aware that more left-leaning states would be unlikely to arrest trans people on such counts, the document later details a wider plan through which the Department of Justice would intervene and prosecute any local officials not willing to bring criminal action against LGBTQ people (Hamilton, 2023: 553).
It always comes out the people writing and advocating for these end up the sickest and most twisted sexual deviants out there
ALWAYS
You know what's crazy? The part about feeling shame. There's been some recent studies about a lot of previously diagnosed sex/porn disorders and addictions being tied to shame due to misinformed religious conservative upbringing. If anything, we need to be talking about and teaching more about sex. Not learning about it correctly leads to hangups and shame about the human body, love, and self love that makes you nearly incapable of showing or expressing yourself correctly. That's why all these conservatives are so fucking weird.
The lowest my self esteem had ever been was when I was religious. I'd avoid porn and masturbation for months on end, 6-8 etc, but eventually I'd get a little too turned on and "succumb" to it. I remember hearing peers discuss it as something disgusting, and I considered myself too impure to consider having a relationship.
I won't say my self esteem is amazing now, but I feel much better about myself, and don't think of myself as some terrible sinner who doesn't deserve happiness.
They are also scared to touch their own buttholes to clean them properly. If you talk to any of them, they are against using bidets.
If you're not willing to touch your own butthole, you shouldn't be having sex. It works for both generally and in the moment.
You guys touch your buttholes? You don't scrub them with a loofa until they bleed?....huh.
This will backfire spectacularly. Red states are bigger fans of porn than blue.

Do it, cowards.
There's SCOTUS precedent saying that pornography--but not obscenity--is covered by 1A. (Obscenity isn't very well defined, but it's generally understood to mean pedophilia/anything involving minors (including drawings), certain acts of violence combined with sex, bestiality, and possibly necrophilia. Other extreme sexual acts--such as crush fetishes--might also fall under obscenity.) You can't pass laws to unspool constitutional rights; your only legal recourse is either stacking the court with people that want to change precedent, or amend the constitution.
This bill is trying to get it all legally classified as obscenity. They're leaning into obscenity already being illegal, they just want to extend the classification to include basically all nudity and porn.
hmmm wherever could we find a bunch of justices that would want to change precedent....🤔
Pretty sure that Alito, Thomas, and Barrett would be all-in on that. Not sure about Goresuch, Roberts, or Kavanaugh.
they 6-3'd Roe. they give no shits about precedent.
Or just do what Trump, his administration, and the Republicans are doing. Move fast, break things, then tell the court 'oops, you're too late.' Trump and the Republicans don't care about the law, they only reason they pass anything through the house is because they want it to have more legitimacy than just a Presidential declaration. If it doesn't pass the house it'll still be the law. Just not on any books.
Is it because they know that Russian porn is better than American porn?
all the onlyfans workers need to join in from g spot to make G Force and flex some of that wealth if they want to keep that vector of wealth alive.
If you think the porn industry is exploitative and abusive now, just wait until they push it all underground.
The studios will move out of the country, most likely.
Some will. But like with alcohol prohibition, many of the people who work in the industry will just go to work in the black market.
I suspect the OnlyFans crowd may do that.
Most definitely. And since their entire job is illegal, why not go all-in and do more illegal stuff on cam for higher pay? That would be my thought process.
Given how little the vast majority of creators make on that platform, I suspect most of them will just quit.
There will definitely be a few that keep going though, I wonder what the penalty will be? And how much enforcement will there be?
I’m pretty anti-porn just like I’m very anti-religion but neither of these things can be killed by banning them. The idea that banning porn will somehow prevent people from accessing it when we know even people in NK or places like the Middle East can access it is just crazy, of course Americans will continue to be able to access it, and like you said this will just push production and distribution underground actually exacerbating the issues with the porn industry. I have few actual complaints about the end result of porn, I don’t believe it’s good or healthy but as a product to be consumed it’s only moderately harmful but the production of porn is where the real evils are found. This will lead to those in the porn industry being abused at rates and in ways currently unfathomable or illegal.
Just think about the popularity of the "schoolgirl/barely legal" image as it currently exists in porn. If it becomes just as illegal to hire a young-looking 25 year old actress as it is to exploit an actual child, a lot producers will opt for the latter.
It would be for 10 hours, then Trump would remove the bill and be seen as an hero. As usual.
doesnt even trigger me anymore. tomorrow the legion of dumbasses will come up with something way stupider. place your bets now!
Moon of America? ...been there fIrSt! Annex earth?
it will be stupider!
At this point, US politics has gone far beyond the point where we can make jokes about morons voting for the face-eating leopard party. Anybody who didn't vote for Kamala Harris because she wasn't critical enough of Israel, didn't do enough for LGBTQ rights, didn't have enough left wing policies, etc. is now reaping what they sow.
