The report says that 153 people died in custody after being arrested under Bukele’s year-long crusade against gangs, including 47 this year, according to the new investigation.
~~Please be accurate when you criticize the administration. No US citizen has been sent to El Salvador.~~
~~The guy the SC told Trump to get back was a legal immigrant, and a citizen of El Salvador.~~
Edit: Well. I'm embarrassed. I misread the meme and my brain skipped the "married to a" part.
do we actually know that no US citizen has been sent? Without due process, there's no way to confirm. Or am I missing something?
Hey entwine, just an FYI -- Kilmar Ábrego García was not a legal immigrant. He was an illegal immigrant (of course, this doesn't mean he was charged with a crime) who was granted a protection from deportation to El Salvador by a US judge on the grounds that he would be in danger from El Salvadorean gangs. He has had a work permit since 2019.
Nevertheless, he was not granted due process and this administration is violating court orders.

Even criminals and illegal aliens are granted protection under the constitution too. Citizen or not, in the eyes of the law, they have the same (ignored) rights.
