Imagining ghibli releasing an animated film starring all of the people working at open ai which, by name, calls each and every one of them a piece of shit and implicates them in destroying the planet.

The last gasp of this diseased society will be an anime Hitler Ghibli style that burns down the last patch of the rain forest.

Ironically I think this is in fact bad for them. They already have a huge cultural footprint, everybody knows ChatGPT and I think most people (in my experience) even go so far as to use "ChatGPT" and "AI" pretty much interchangeably. They're not raising awareness and making themselves more relevant with this Ghibli bullshit, and this increased usage is probably going to cost them a hefty amount of money in compute. Maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part, but I don't feel like this usage spike is a net positive for OpenAI.

Its for their investors who just want to see some metric go up. It meaningless in the grand scheme of things other than they can get more vc funding maybe

Absolutely, they're valued at 300B rn with insane losses and not that much revenue. Definitely the most overvalued company since Tesla

They're unironically priced at having a non zero chance of achieving AGI within the investors lifetime lmao
