I didn't even know that. I am a casual viewer of JonTron for many years. Has he made some sketchy videos or tweets?
Back in 2017, he went onto Destiny's stream and rattled off a bunch of racist statistics.
*Before the debate he was apparently on some right-wing podcast saying shit about immigrants.
Oh, and he called america a Banana Republic in response to Trump losing.
Afaik at this point he's learned to shut the fuck up and stay in his lane.
He made Destiny looked like a socialist to put into perspective how much of an unhinged fascist he is.
Anything more recently? And anything that is him going full Nazi?
Saying racist bullshit is bad and I think I won't watch him anymore then but "going full Nazi" is a bit more serious I believe.
He had choice comments about commulists [sic] ruining America and immigrants polluting the gene pool, which reads pretty fucking nazi to me.

Those are old comments - as another poster said, he's kept his head down but hasn't apologized or shown he's grown past it. I'm not convinced, especially seeing how he's had some hot anti-vax takes since the pandemic started

I think a lot of the Let's Play people from Something Awful still make good video game YouTube content and aren't awful people: ChipCheezum, General Ironicus, Slowbeef (the video LP OG), Tie Tuesday, and Voidburger are a few I remember.
Haven't really been into that stuff in 10 years or so, so excuse me if someone has milkshake ducked.
VoidBurger is incredibly good. Her Silent Hill LPs are some of the finest that exist and it's clear that she's very passionate about those games. Her Silent Hill 2 LP even has a guest appearance by Jeremy Blaustein, who was the voice and motion capture director
Absolutely, her Silent Hill videos are fantastic. I saw that she recently got engaged to ChipCheezum, which is incredibly cute.

the best gaming channel on YouTube was SirRonLionHeart and he's retired (but seems like he's doing well) also he dropped his character in his newer stuff

Don’t personally watch them but a few friends of mine swear by the Real Time Fan Dub people & associated channels - I like Lythero but it’s a lot of fgc stuff so it might not be everybody’s bag. Jerma is still good but fuckin impenetrable lol.
There’s plenty of good stuff out there but yea a lot of that 2000s-2010s gaming youtube circle turned out to be trash sadly
there are some pretty wholesome minecraft youtubers but idk of any good gaming channels that aren't focused on one game.. maybe some twitch streamers who upload to youtube?
I said this on another comment but I will not stop shilling for Retro Pals if people like good wholesome lets plays of random retro games

That's worse than I expected as someone who casually watched a decade ago.
I will never forget that GGs studio fucking outed a gay furry to their conservative family because they dared to point out problematic stuff in Dream Daddy.
Whats the problematic parts of dream daddy, the game was too boring for me to finish
it sometimes treats relationships between gay men as a funny haha joke rather than anything resembling a typical relationship
honestly I don't know what was pointed out specifically, but a gay member of the staff (the only gay staff member) apparently brought up some complaints regarding the writing/representation and he was resoundingly ignored, and then outed to the family. No one quite knows what happened, but the gay developer guy attempted suicide, so it seems like it was something serious
also it's not clear how much the game grumps themselves were involved or if it was mainly the studio staff. Who knows. There's not a lot of open information about it

It continued mutating and getting more malignant and now we have rich Twitch streamers siccing their fandoms on each other in narcissistic turf wars. 
That's horrible.
Oh that takes me back and their shit did not age well. 
I gotta admit, I sometimes still go back and watch early Game Grumps just because 2012 and 2013 were a happier years for me. I was finally on my own back then, I had a cat who loved me, and I had a moderate amount of financial independence.
I had friends too, and we all enjoyed the same type of internet content, so I probably mix together that type of nostalgia. All blended together. We'd watch Game Grumps and then we'd also play terrible games on a couch together.
I know nothing like that has necessarily changed, I can still find people to play video games with, but so much of my brain has changed. Even knowing how Game Grumps turned out doesn't dissuade me from enjoying the older stuff somehow. I never liked Dan. I got sex creep vibes from him Day 1 and I wasn't wrong.

I'm very much in the same boat, I absolutely agree there are problems with the attitudes. But that Grumps era just holds a special comfort for me.
I'd watch anything similar if I could find it. Two goofballs goofing around with SNES games on a couch is what I like. Reminds me of when I had friends. Everything is twitch streams and vtubers now and it just doesn't hit the same.
