I think there's something to be said for Trump delaying the Mexican tariffs, but keeping the Canadian tariffs in tact. Maybe someone in the Trump admin actually read a climate report and realized where all the arable land is going to be. Canadians should prepare for increased antagonism from the US while it fishes around for a casus belli. The Americans don't want Mexico in the same way. At most they want a buffer zone in nothern mexico to stop climate refugees.

but keeping the Canadian tariffs in tact.

Didn't he just delay the Canadian ones too?

Looks like he did.

Huh, so the proposition that these were just negotiating tactics seems more true p

It's a developing story. Claudia Sheinbaum announced that she had made a deal with Trump to delay the 25% tariff for 1 month. As part of the deal, Mexico is placing 10,000 Nation Guard members on the Mexico-US border.

Sure, and with recent developments, it seems more like negotiating than Trump intentionally shooting his dick off

At least it is now in the public record we were sending a shit ton of heavy weapons into Mexico. Love for an actual public investigation not behind closed doors or redacted-1redacted-2 to detail all of it. The public needs to know how our own intelligence and state actors were involved in gun and drug running. More so who signed off on the orders to do so.

Alas nothing ever happens. If anything maybe Mexico can make what they know public. say-the-line-bart-2 But nothing ever happens.

Stock market spiked as soon as Claudia Sheinbaum announced that tariffs on Mexico were delayed.

I was debating trying my hand at a zero day contract put on SPY this morning. I have never fucked with options even though my trading account supposedly has them authorized now.

Glad I talked myself out of it. Some of the wsb people did get lucky by executing them right around 10 am

Makes sense. He's just posturing to look tough. Art of the deal trump-enlightened
